Anyone else having issues trying to buy a pass for today's game - I have a season pass that doesn't cover the game but following the link to buy a ticket simply takes you to the standard follow purchase options with nothing available for today's game

Go to the IFollow tab on the NTFC website and purchase a video match pass. Works for me.

I suspect you're trying to buy a "ticket" rather than a video match pass.

Thanks mate - it’s not that - it’s because my location is not UK and apparently licensing doesn’t allow (which is bizarre as the season pass works for home league games because I am abroad!

There is a solution though.....

I thought today's game wasn't available abroad as its a Cup game. You could use VPN scrambler if you're abroad..

What annoys me is that the club has been offering to have us watch the game for free, but couldn't be bothered to let the overseas subscribers know that they couldn't watch even if they had a season's subscription. The same applies to Wimbledon on Tuesday I believe. The only good points are the tremendous way  we played and that I was able to listen on Radio Northampton. Radio Northampton is usually unavailable if iFollow is using their commentary.

I guess I was wrong about Wimbledon.
Please note: EFL Trophy matches are now available on iFollow (excluding Semi-Finals & Finals), but there will be no Carabao Cup or The FA Cup matches available to watch on the service.

I couldn’t get logged on via my TV so had to watch via IPad. Will watch the EFL Trophy game on Tuesday too, £10 is a bargain

Agreed, although to be fair the cup game was never offered as free rather £10 match pass, however for overseas subscribers there was no explanation it did not apply to them and the links to purchase a pass just led to a blind alley (as mentioned in my opening post) - finally explained on the EFL chat line service.

It’s interesting (& of course I’d never do that!!) but you need a UK based VPN for cup games and an overseas one for home EFL games!)

Your payment card also needs to be at an address overseas just for good measure.

worked on my phone. Worked on the i-pad (but couldn't link to TV). Worked on both of ourl aptops fine during the count down stage but not when the 'subscription' part of it kicked in just before kick off!

So basically, for the first 20 minutes of the game we were logging in and out of various different devices trying to link it up to the tv but ended up having to huddle around my lads i-pad.

Did anyone else manage to link it up to the TV? And if so, how?!

They put stupid restrictions in the software that prevent you from 'casting' or 'airplaying' the content for the purpose of copyright infringement prevention.

To get it on the TV you will need a physical connection - so either iPad to tv with lightning to HDMI (i haven't tested this method personally but should work) or laptop to tv with HDMI cable (this is how i watch it)

We are thinking an MHL2 Cable should work (phone/i-pad)? Which we haven't got. No where on the ipad to put an hdmi cable in, but it is a basic one (lads christmas present last year when he was 9!)

We've got two times ASUS laptops, decent spec, but just 'would't have it' when the subscription bit kicked in.

This Saturday, mates hosting it...he's a bit more techy than me. We will get there!  Grin

I connected a HDMI from my TV to laptop by using a mini port connector.

That is interesting. Airplay was definitely blocked on IOS devices last time i checked. Does the samsung phone to Samsung tv connection use the built in android casting technology, or do samsung use their own proprietary tech for that do you know?

I believe it's their own proprietary stuff but I'm not 100%. I haven't tried casting to a Samsung TV from an IOS device but when I tried to get my Dad's Chromebook to cast to their Samsung TV it didn't want to know (for anything, not just a particular app), which is what leads me to think it's proprietary. I didn't spend much time trying to make it work though, to be fair.
