In Keith we trust. Looks like he could have found another couple of gems.

Well done lads, I didn't see the match but saw the goals on Sky, also Sky said it was a well deserved win, great stuff

Mind you, we've always been quite a good League Cup team  Grin

One crushing of a team that was nearly in the Prem by our make-shift group of nobodies does not our season make.

I rather fear we may have to come against many teams who will now put 10 men behind the ball when they face us.  It may be that we do not win every fixture this season. We may have to be content with an occasional draw.

When Harry Smith learns to arrive "late" at where the ball is placed (rather than move before the ball is sent), he will be following Goode to Brentford.

Regardless of where we finish, and, even if we only win 6 more games this season, may those wins produce doubles over PeatrBorrow, LinCon and GillinGum.

This team has fight.  And, I am happy.

Posters were concerned about where the goals would come from, well our 2 strikers today provided the answer and Ricky awarded 2 assists.
Comments on Cardiff forum when team announced was they were glad Harris was taking the competition seriously and had fielded a strong team. They managed 1 shot on target all game.

Didn't see that coming at all. Thought we would struggle. Fantastic confidence booster for Warburton and Big "Arry - who is not the finished article, but has many good sides to his play. Korboa looks promising, Watson carried on his fantastic form from the play off final and everyone else looked solid.                           Best not to get too excited - but a great start to the season.

Well KC and the boys know how to surprise us. Not many saw that result coming. A bit like the last two play off games, creating and taking our chances whilst restricting the opposition to very little in the way of openings. And with 3 or 4 key players out. Let's hope we see some League performances like that.
Pleased for Warburton. There is a player in there that just needs games and maybe this is his time.

I’m sure this result probably came as quite a surprise to the people spouting doom and gloom in recent weeks!  Grin

One result isn’t going to mean we’re set for the season but given we are missing several players, I don’t know how much better an impression the lads could’ve made than smashing 3 goals past the 5th best team in the championship last season.

In particular seeing Ricky Korboa get two assists on his pro debut - thought he looked bright in the friendlies but in a game against such opposition is only going to boost his confidence and I’m looking forward to seeing how he gets on week in week out. Looks like he could be a quality find though!

Obviously any concerns about the backline being changed too, at least based on this game looks like we have made some good replacements. I liked what I saw from Horsfall in the friendlies and I’m seeing Bolger get good reviews from today’s fixture.

The display today may give KC some clues how he now recruits. Tricky and important time for club and manager up-to October!
Some interesting results today not least Peterborough losing!

I thought that Korboa looked good today, but there's no way that second assist wasn't Smiths.

Woke up this morning with a warm glow. Given our perceived struggles in the transfer market that couldn’t have gone any better could it? Many had written them off but could it be that Warburton and Smith have a significant role to play this season? I hope so, especially Warburton. I can’t remember ever wanting a player  struggling a bit at times to make it as much as him, I don’t know why? Underdog living out his dreams perhaps? I don’t think anyone can argue that if both of them play next time out it will be on merit?

I personally think most of us have shown pretty poor faith in our players, NTFC ,Management and Chairman. I appreciate this is just one win, things might change, the Development situation has yet to be resolved but I do wish some on here could hold their nerve and forget their ego’s. Just one win has shown us already that we have egg on our faces!

The work ethic which we used to such effect in the play offs is there...and with it we are greater than the sum of our parts

The problem is Evers, there are far too many people who just don’t understand football, or have played at a decent enough level to appreciate it.

They lurch from positive to negative within minutes of things not panning out how they want.

I am proud of my team and my club through thick and thin. Social media is infested with detractors and moaners. But f*ck em. It’s about the football and the love of NTFC.

Well done to Keith and the lads. You shoved it right up them....

How was Racic?

Ok - steady performance against familiar oppo. Not quite the class I anticipated but uses his football brain and looks a fine prospect.
