In my forever glass half full world I would say that sometimes a loss can trigger a reaction and a winning run , so perhaps the loss has come at the right time in the right tournament.

The increasing injury list is a concern though.

I like that bit of positivity amongst all the doom and gloom of ONE bad result.
The injury situation is definitely the concern. Not for the first time in League One (was it the Ian Atkins relegation season where we seemed to safer a raft of injuries)?

Bit part players proving they are exactly that, this is the problem with awarding contracts to players in League two that struggle to make the team in that division let alone the one above. I know it frustrates a lot on here but this is where the loan system comes into it's own, if it works out you have a quality player, if it doesn't you can get shot.

The players looking to secure a place in the match squad failed dismally some snippets of quality from the better players until both teams looked disinterested in the second half. Boy these games miss a crowd but with this trophy even if fans were allowed in that stadium would be deadly quiet and if it had been at Sixfields you would have just heard the chatter of friends catching up.

Somehow we need to get at least six off of the books in pone way or another including the youngsters out on loan to league two if possible. 3 more to come in then we should have a decent squad to be mid table.

Right now the season really starts, let's see where we are after Saturday

Unfortunately for those of us who would be happy to go out, I'd still imagine that we will qualify with relative ease. Home games vs Southampton U21 and Stevenage to come. Can't see us losing either, reserve team or otherwise.

Injuries last night much more of a concern than the result, hopefully the subs were made as precautions.

Bringing on Lines and Martin (rather than Marshall for example) is concerning but hopefully another sign that this competition is not being taken seriously. No more concerned by this than by the Luton result.

Fingers crossed for the weekend.
