Emmmm nearly 4000 people contracted Covid today, can’t help thinking this is irresponsible and giving out the wrong message.

So 0.006% of the population? What about the other 99.994%?

Watching a football match with reduced numbers, in the open air with correct procedures in place is probably safer than going to the supermarket.

Majority of infections caused by 20 to 45yr olds - can we introduce a curfew( 3pm match days) for this age group - el Socrates ?

11 of the 20 deaths reported today were from English hospitals, with ALL 11 patients aged between 69 and 98, and all with underlying health conditions. The young ones are getting infected but its still the old/unhealthy ones who are dying. Curfew the oldies! Let the virus run through the young-uns.

Hopefully it doesn't amplify the 'home advantage' effect too much.

So we are doing about 250,000 tests a day, on around 175,000 people, a lot of test need redoing for whatever reason, that’s 0.0025% of the population that have been tested..........

Wimbledon followed by Shrewsbury would have been seen as an ideal start to the Laegue One season with an expectation of a minimum 4 points gained, so pressure to get a win now. Injuries aren't going to help us at all and a new squad of players gelling means it could be a tough afternoon. I think I'd take a draw now.

Probably for the first time ever I’m going to agree with manwork!. So it is dangerous for me to meet 6 friends even if we are socially distanced in a park but it’s ok for 1000 people to group together in a football stadium. There will be surfaces like hand rails and toilets that will be touched by numerous people, fans in the same rows will have to get really close when passing each other to get to their seats, along with many other reasons why it’s far more dangerous. So why can’t I meet friends in a park but football grounds, pubs and soon theatres are reopening? it’s all about money now and not people’s health. Full steam ahead with opening businesses while the number of infections rises, with a token effort made in imposing restrictions when no money is involved. But why should anyone listen or adhere to the rule of 6 when they see other more unsafe activities are being green lighted? that’s the dangerous message the government is sending out. I can’t imagine the finances are there for a second lock down so if we do lose control of keeping infections in check the results to the most vulnerable may be catastrophic. Mass gatherings like sporting events played a huge part in spreading it first time round, so even with measures why risk it at a time when infections are growing rapidly.

We've probably seen enough since we restarted to suggest that we'll have a better season if the whole thing is played behind closed doors.

Are you sure you have read the rule of six correctly? Your interpretation seems off cue? Ps have a read : https://www.itv.com/news/2020-09-15/rule-of-six-what-can-and-cant-you-do-under-the-restrictions

I quite probably have misunderstood it!. Even after reading it though as far as I’m aware I can’t meet up with 6 friends (making a group of 7) in a park even if we are in a group but socially distanced (2 metres apart). Correct me if I’m wrong which I probably am!.

Well the doom mongers were out in force after 1 bad result on wednesday. However, it is difficult to predict a win here with our injury list and our awful historic record at Shrewsbury (18 defeats in 27 games with only 6 wins). But friend Breakspear has done us a favour with Pierre suspended and last season Shrewsbury had a decent defensive record but had trouble scoring and won only 6 of their 17 home games so there is hope if our defence can sort itself out. They also still have the tricky but irksome Whalley who purposely ran into Buchanan and got him a second yellow a few seasons ago.
