However a lot of this was true a year ago and look what happened.
This is true, and an initial 'work in progress' period was always going to be on the cards.
However, my issues are:
1. The gelling problem would have been significantly diminished if we had kept Oliver and possibly also Turnbull. I struggle to think they wouldn't have stayed if a decent offer had been on the table.
2. In league 2 you can probably get away with a gelling period. In league one, however, a lack of cohesion will be punished. The quality of the forward players is simply quite a lot higher. Hanlon for them, for instance, was a cut above anything you would find in league 2.
I think things will improve when Adams, Sowerby and Rose start getting a regular run out. I also think that our start overall has been just about OK - losing to Hull was pretty much expected and today's result has been the only major black mark so far. I also back Curle to solidify the defence and make us harder to beat.
I would still like us to sign another centre back though, particularly if we're going to stick with 3 at the back for the whole year.
