Why? ‘wait until Thursday’ can guess a couple of reasons? But prefer to be enlightened!
Thanks in anticipation
When you have to explain subtle humour! Agree regards Marshall. Very poor last night, including the inept but over placed corners, though too would normally be near the top of my list for the XI!

With respect to my learned friend, I thought that referees gave the first offence, and the first offence was clearly outside the box and, with respect to my learned friend, I completely agree about the holding, it wasn't very subtle was it ? It continued into the box therefore becomes an offence committed inside of the penalty area.

I thought Marshall was overall poor last night.
The issue is that even good players can be made to look crap when there is lack of a coherent system around them. Last year we had a clear system, for all our limitations. This year we appear to be playing some sort of weird gung-ho 3-4-3 with an ever-shifting cast of wing-backs and wide-forwards. I think he needs to either play a proper 3-5-2 with a settled striking partnership or go to four at the back. 4-2-3-1, as many have said, would probably be a be a good fit for our personnel, particularly now that Ricky is around. Starting last night without either Watson or Sowerby in the midfield was a recipe for disaster and frankly showed a lack of respect for the opposition. All the factors - weird pitch, non-league opposition, TV cameras - should have screamed out to Curle to pick an experienced side in a clear, organised line up. Curle's s tactical naivety was staggering, but hopefully it will be the wake-up call he needs. I have one expectation this year: stay in the league. If he achieves that he'll have done OK in my book. Surely a cup run will generate less revenue anyway given the lack of fans in the early rounds.

Come on Nigel, that was indefensible
Totally mate. I really couldn’t think of anything remotely sensible to say about it. I sat and watched it, totally flabbergasted by the lack of cohesion, commitment and craft. Never mind.. We are too far in to do anything different now Rog.

The point I was making about Marshall, regardless of how he played last night, was that when Smith came on he needed crosses into the box and at that same time KC took Marshall off who can provide such crosses and put Korboa out wide, very strange.

Nothing much from the Shed Enders, just a few happy old exiles on the forum. The inquest has been very much at this end!

Very reserved report. The mention of us being 'limited on the ball' was extremely kind and very flattering to us! Just think of the words they could have used!?! ( suggestions on a postcard please).

Seems to me this is a dead topic/thread and is now beginning to fill with innuendo and speculation. The chance has come and gone but a brief look at the rewards may be easily dwarfed by relegation. All that has happened we have been shocked, infuriated and quite a few ego systems have taken a hit. Have already forgotten; a few of my pals told me that they switched off after 40/60mins as it was so poor. As somebody has suggested the next few games are somewhat important.

I think it is only fair to say we were an embarrassment. No excuses and no one, management or players came out with any credit.
On another point did anyone else find BT Sports coverage and commentary inept? The mistakes were inexcusable. Someone on here said we were in for a treat when compared with Sky. They were about as good as us on the night.

Generally I find BT sport a better product than Sky Sports, I guess they only did some desk top research as OCFC and NTFC are hardly household names. I think the commentators were very generous to us considering that the game was so bad from our perspective.

Given he didn't feature at all, is it safe to say that Chris Lines won't ever play for NTFC again?

Not his biggest fan but surely would have been a decent option in midfield on Monday...point to prove too. KC is an absolute bell if he's frozen him out as he was the one who signed him on a 2 year deal (same as that clown Martin!)

Lines has the virtue of being an actual midfielder and there were precious few of them about on Monday night.

The side selected was 7/8 players short of the previous game! To me, KC had no real intention of winning the game. The subs were all made far too late. Yet KC was not on the touchline yelling instructions; normally you can hear him a mile away. Personally, I think he reacted to players complaining about too little game time. So he stuck all the complainers...with perhaps a simulated result. Of course, this is pure speculation on my part. Agree with most of your comments except the final two para's. Whatever we may think of Curle he is a manager good enough for the Club, of all the Town managers he is by far the most likely to ensure L1 safety. As for those wishing him out based on personal prejudice and to play 'proper' football I have little respect. I daresay if we had a goal-scoring centre forward KC would revert to some form of hoofing in a flash.

Surely, playing all the Fringe / moaning players in the woeful Papa John's Trophy game v Stevenage next week, would have been the better option!
Not hindsight either...pretty obvious lower league fans love & fully respect the FA Cup whilst most despise the Papa John's Trophy
