Ok then, how about we give the ball away far too often? A team two places below us in the league had nearly 70% possession and we were at home!
MK have had more possession of the ball than any other team in League 1 this season, but where are they in the league? Not having Holmes and Watson on the pitch together was an elementary mistake!!

Disappointingly dull game, what I could see of it with my ifollow problems. MK had plenty of possession but mostly between Keogh and the keeper, god they're boring to watch. We weren't up to much either. Smith was poor and offers very little. Would have liked to have seen Chuk come on who after his goal on Saturday should have been full of confidence. Ricky looked like he still has something, he just needed the ball more. He was the main positive along with the clean sheet.

Really poor from Cobbs but should have won it, 70/ 30% possession once again we don’t look fit enough and with Smith up front we’ve effectively got 10 men. Seal looks like his name suggests, great to see Sir Ricky Holmes back, why did Curle take off Marshall and Rose and not Smith and Hoskins ?
That baffled me too. Rose Marshall and Holmes would be a pain to most defences. There footballing IQ is way ahead of the rest of the squad. Doubt we will see it much though.

Thought The Dungs were really poor, disappointed not to get something from that one? Lacking a little bit of confidence and positivity at the minute? Keef keeps trying to convince all that we have some big characters but it’s obvious that this quality is the biggest step back from last year? Additionally whilst I personally don’t think anyone in the squad is a terrible player, there are a few who are putting in too many below average performances too often. Smith heads the list and whilst I like Hoskins I don’t understand how he gets a start in front of Marshall on current form? I think a side that includes a fit Holmes, Adams, Marshall and Mills should be able to grind out a few results even if it’s predominantly a second half side? But we absolutely need another McCormack, in the unlikely event there is one drifting around unattached at the moment?

We have to be beating teams like MK at home to stand a chance this season . The passing and movement has to be much better . Holmes is a massive plus but who is on his level ? He and JJOT used to combine brilliantly .

we are in transition, in a league above from the one we finished 7th in and scored the majority of our goals from set pieces......................i think if we finish 5th bottom and stay up we will (or should) be happy with that. these are weird and wonderful times and we probably shouldnt have such OTT expectations in a tough league.

Im still saying our main priority is financial solvency. I know it’s frustrating, even infuriating given our history of failing to sustain our league position following promotion. However it’s the overriding factor this season in my opinion. If these other clubs happen to be run by individuals with sh1t for brains who have over extended themselves on the budget then so be it, they’ll be sorry. For example, given Gillinghams struggles financially, the very fact that they outbid us for Oliver tells me that their owner is an absolute cnnt and couldn’t run a tap properly, no offence.

Hoskins is many things BUT not a central midfielder, Missalou should have come on, it worries me Keef thinks Hoskins can do a job there. Consequently we had no possession last 20 mins and they walked through our midfield.

MK were as their supporters said they have been all season, 69% possession, 1 shot on target and impotent in attack. Mitchell had nothing to seriously contend with. On the other hand we also created very little apart from the 2 Horsfall headers. He was a shade unfortunate with the one that hit the underside of the bar but should have scored with the free header set up by Ricky. I think this is the best position for Ricky giving him afree role behind the front 2. Concerning that we have not scored in 4 of our 6 home games. By the way I see Tim Oglethorpe is again coming in for criticism but if you look at the MK board you will find a couple of posts who thought Radio Northampton coverage superior than their own and this has been mentioned before by opposing fans. Yes, at times he can be annoying but we could have far worse.

Joking aside I’ve heard a few of the alternatives and when it comes to local radio commentary Timbo is outstanding, seriously!

Tim O. is intelligent and enthusiastic, so we should appreciate the quality of coverage we get from Radio Northampton.
I listened to the 3 counties commentary for the earlier cup game and it was pathetic.

Interesting pronunciation of Keogh - only got irritating after the thousandth time he collected the ball and passed it sideways/backwards.

Good point. Holmes' passing was a cut above but his teammates often weren't reading things quickly enough, leading to them panicking and losing possession. Hopefully this will come in time. His enduring relationship with Adams and Hoskins should help.

Couldn't agree more. With all the players at his disposal and so many different combinations available I wonder if Curle will ever find out, if only by accident perhaps, what his strongest team is. I would have thought a Sowerby & Missilou combo would be his best central midfield for starters.
