I'm not getting too excited yet because he's effectively been out of the game for so long. But then... it's Rick Holmes! If he can even be 70% of the player he was in our league winning season... we can dream, can't we?

I still get choked up and come out in goose bumps thinking about that last minute winner at Stevenage.
Just one moment like that would make me so happy Smiley Cool That goal for me is right up there with John Frain in the 93rd!

Orient away for me...best live goal I've ever seen & probably will ever see!

If we get 70% of what we had then he'll still be mustard!

Fantastic news. Sounds like it'll only be until January if it goes well, but at least we have hope for a good few months ahead to cheer the mood.

The Orient one, very few (if any) Cobblers goals in my time that have been better than that, that I have seen live...

I wouldn't argue with any ones choice of best Ricky (or Cobblers) goal, it wasn't just the quality of the one at Stevenage it was because we came back from 2 nil down to win 3-2. In that instant I knew for certain that we had won the league.

Excited about this, even for his talismatic leadership qualities.
Still remember with pride how he cut through Appleton's best team in the league's midfield, that great night at the Kassam!

Nevertheless, by the time he left Oxford Utd and Gillingham, he was about as mobile as Stephen Hawking on a Roman road...so pay per appearance seems an ideal contract!

Roman Roads - you could walk from Towcester to Chester or even cycle without an issue. I am not particularly mobile either!
