Accrington are a blueprint for clubs like us. A side assembled for peanuts and they're absolutely nothing special - but they're hard workers, well organised, know their system inside out and they get the basics right.
That's literally all you need. If they survive this season - and it looks likely they will - then next season will be their fourth consecutive campaign at this level. That's something we haven't managed since the 1960s.
They have four games in hand over first place Peterborough...and could go top if winning them. Survival probably isn't their objective!

That was dismal. I can take us playing long ball stuff when it's effective, or even actually aimed at someone, but today it was just aimless hoofball. Whenever we got the ball anywhere on the field we just wellied it forward without even looking to see where any of the strikers were.
Clueless, inept, lacking in any ideas, ability and, unforgivably, effort.

I thought Stanley were ok. They looked quite solid at time. I know it’s easy to look good against us but they don’t deserve the negative comments they’re getting on this thread!

"My three children were born in Northamptonshire so I like to think I'm an adopted Northamptonian and it's the same for Rico and Sammo. It means a lot to us because this is our county.

Very poor showing again. We never looked like scoring at any point and in a home game that's never good enough - and that's with us prioritising league games!
The whole game I had no idea what the tactics were. We have to stick with KC but I think he must learn to take his share of the blame when we don't get results, otherwise he might lose the dressing room. Why o why are we still playing our non-scoring, non-targetman Smith and just lumping it up to him? He doesn't win many headers and when he does it's a complete lottery where the ball will go. If that's the best we can do, we will get relegated. Unfortunately today, when we did try to pass the ball a bit it was equally poor because nobody put in a single decent pass that I noticed.
The players are visibly short of confidence which clearly doesn't help, but whatever tactics KC reckons he's trying are not working, so he needs to look at himself too.

So Madrid, what has Curle done to make us keep our trust in him. Signings not good enough, tactics not good enough, no identity, no passion, no skill, what makes you think he can turn this around?

Both teams huffed and puffed. Curle is in denial!!!
Does he not realise we had one shot on target and they could have have 5 or 6.
Curle is talking absolute b00llOcks!!

Tim now querying Keith’s comments, you need to be challenging whilst he’s in front of you.

That was dreadful. We really looked like we have no idea what we are doing....probably because we have no idea what we are doing. Only Sheehan of the outfield players can be said to have had a decent game.
For some reason Harriman was taken off, which made us even more exposed at the back and Stanley really should have taken full advantage.
Time for a total re-think. Forget playing three at the back, we do not have the personnel. Perhaps go to a 4-4-2, but please do not pick Smith and just lump it forward to him again because you might as well just kick it straight to their keeper - at least it will take a bit longer for the ball to come back.
Our recruitment has, for whatever reason, been dreadful and we now just have to try and find a system that makes the best of what we have got and hope to limp through to January to try and sort out the mess.

So who gets in the Team ahead of Smith? Seal who didn’t touch the ball the whole 20 mins he was on the field or let’s just throw Chuck in there instead. I’m afraid I don’t have any answers just lots and lots of questions.

Mitchell Harriman -- Bolger -- Sheehan -- NEW LB (Mills when fit) Missilou --- Watson Adams --- Holmes --- NEW LW (Hoskins) Rose
That team would win games and at could at least try to play football. Not rocket science.

He got us promoted just a few months ago and therefore will be (and deserves to be) given a decent crack at L1. Any new manager will want new players and KT is not going to be splashing the cash anytime soon in the current economic climater. That's almost certainly the reality, like it or not.
It's going to be a struggle, but things can change fast. Before the Wigan game, the likes of you were saying we wouldn't win again all season. Is it going to be tough? Yes. Can we stay up? I honestly think so. We will need to do much better, but this week has been poor even by our recent standards, so it probably will get better.
Nobody has endless patience but you, Manwork and a few others have absolutely none.

It might work, but where do you suggest we get the new left back and new left winger from?

You could try Harriman at LB with Shaun Mac at RB in absence of Mills. Maybe try Korboa instead of Hoskins.

Maybe I should have put that question to Air-Dan. Where do we get the new left back and winger from? As the window is closed.

Curle is I’m afraid out of his depth, that was worse than Crawley away last year, the only difference is that Crawley took their chances.it’s his Team and they are not good enough.
Everbrite will no doubt tell us we need to stick by the team blah blah whilst we become the laughing stock of the League.
Should never have renewed his contract!
It was a bad result and more significantly the team gave a poor performance without any apparent cohesion/plan. Not sure if the manager has the confidence of the team anymore. Holmes on too late again! What I will not do is call for his head as am not sure this will do anything other than spread disharmony. All the people suggesting sacking Curle are those doing so over the last two seasons are blindly chasing their agenda. Ok, so Curle goes but what next? Where is the plan? Who pays the costs for the sacking/replacements. Will KT support the anti-Curle brigade? He ( KT) could even walk fed up with the bickering on here. If some of you wish to form a clique/consortium and make an offer for the club. You never know you all might be lucky 🙏 . I personally think you have no chance of KT sacking KC as it’s a recipe for disaster. Along with many fans I prefer to have a club even if it means relegation into EFL L2. Man up and Support the manager and club.

So you would be happy for no progression under Curle in 3 years then Everbrite? Accrington had more shots in one game than we’ve had in 3 and Curle states there wasn’t much in it! That by anyone’s definition is clearly fake news. We might as well get Trump in!
