Well, you put that nicely. Huh? RIP Dennis. It's been almost 30 years since we last got together, but you were always a top fella.

Him and Jennings were two great trainers. Remember Dennis taking care of Ray Yeoman after a bloody nose at Millwall! Remembered by me?

I think that would have been Jack Jennings. Ray Yeomans left the Cobblers 1958, Denis Casey was still playing for Wellingborough Town until the late 60's

RIP Denis a nice bloke and always well respected by the players

Thought that game was 1957, perhaps it was the infamous game at Millwall in 1961 when Howarth was sent off for punching Gale who was also sent off to satisfy the crowd.

As reported by the Chron/BBC  today the death of ex Cobblers Player Des O'Connor; dear old Des and Morecambe & Wise. Understood he was at both Wembley Finals - true supporter. All the best Des in that great pantheon of Famous Cobblers. Decent tribute by the Chron \ Club too.

The game you are talking about might have been 1957 but, as I pointed out, Denis was still playing at that time. Colin Gale left the club in 1960 so it wasn't 1964

Strange I passed my driving test in 1964 march/april, and am pretty certain it was Gale sent off in 1964. Never forgot the brawl - proper punch up!

sorry it was 1961 and am pretty sure it was Gale as you appear to be the ItKN have you any records to check?
Appreciate feedback Cool

I repaired his car once, at Brampton, and the very nice man, came out with a tray of tea and biscuits. Lovely fella. RIP.

Was a familiar name for me from my early days of watching the Cobblers back in the 80's.
Very sad news at a time when we are again losing a number of household names, although not famous to many outside of Northampton he will still be forever remembered by many of us
saw him a few times and he always said hello even though I was just a pleb from the stands

RIP Denis, Cobblers legend.

I met him at a wedding reception once. We were at different receptions with a shared bar area between the two but he was happy to chat and was a really nice bloke.

A very decent gentleman who sadly didn't get the retirement years he deserved - in the world of cosseted footballers I'm sure most fans don't appreciate the hours lower division club's physio's work - add them up and I suspect most earn significantly less than minimum wage.

RIP Denis and thoughts to the family
