I used to travel abroad every month or so with work. Commuted to an office the rest of the time. I have been working from home since March, all business related travel has stopped. Haven't and wouldn't travel on Bus or train unless it was necessary.

The west stand has closed sides, back and roof. The stand itself his more enclosed than not, particularly if you stand at the back of it. Turnstiles, staircases and under the stand are all indoors, as are toilets.
So you are prepared to go on a bus or train when necessary, but not a stadium. With 2000 people all sitting apart. No offence intended mate, just making an observation.

I would go to a stadium if it was necessary. But it's not is it!

One final question mate, again no offence intended, best wishes mate, but have you ever worked for the BBC? And that will my final word on the matter.

So when i confirm that i have not commuted anywhere since march and have not been on a bus or train since then, nor would i unless it necessary, you somehow try to twist that into me being perfectly happy to travel by train or bus and equate it to watching a football match in a stadium, thus making me some kind of hypocrite.

When i kindly point out that watching a game of football in a stadium is not a necessity and does not equate to being willing to use a bus IF it was necessary, you come back with some weird question about the BBC.

Interesting...

If you read that all the way through, you'll find it doesn't support your position or arguments at all.

So the report says the measures the Cobblers and other clubs have in place at the moment should make attending much safer than normal.

I’m not sure how you gleaned that from what he wrote,
Professor James Reade, a sports economist at the University of Reading and lead author of the study, said: “We all miss the atmosphere created by fans at sporting events, and allowing them to return to stadiums in lower numbers is viewed as a way of making this possible during the pandemic. However, our study backs up the view that reducing crowd sizes on its own is unlikely to lower the risk of spreading of the virus.
He goes on to say that not having food outlets open COULD reduce the risk.

The salient points are,
1) reduction of crowds doesn’t reduce the risk.
2) attending a football match increases the infection rate in that area.

COVID is real and highly contagious and deadly in older people.

Have you got source for that, that isn't the Government? I don't think we should be be relying purely on government guidelines when we all know that the rules can never be based on pure science and they are having to strike the balance between, public opinion, economy and health.

I think it was also you that made the argument that outdoors is safer because the particles don't sit in the air, they move, right? isn't that a worse scenario, when you have a stadium full of static seated people and airbourne particles moving around?

Just to be clear, the questions above are not meant to antagonise, they are genuine questions.

What you want is a very specific answer, to a very challenging question. I have stated (as someone who has taught infection control in healthcare for years.) that I personally believe the spacing and procedures followed on the whole, afforded the best chance to reduce risk.

I would suggest to anyone that wants an absolutely guarantee they won’t catch COVD at the football........ STAY AWAY. That will guarantee the 100% protection you might be craving for. Otherwise, join me at the next match you are invited to. In a stadium, where personally I believe THE CLUB did the best they could.

Does everyone in your bubble receive a separate email re. whether you are being allocated tickets for a match or just the bubble co-ordinator?

*The researchers concluded that the rise in infections after matches in February and March may not be repeated in future due to increased safety measures anticipated to be in introduced in stadiums.

This could include preventing contact between fans while buying refreshments, and controlling their movement around the stadiums using one-way systems.*

The clubs are following the guidelines, the public may not be. Catching the virus may be completely random, many have caught it whilst isolating for months.(according to hospital reports from America and Italy and others)
Whether to take the risk of attending a football match, well, we all have a choice.

Oh Manny does make me laugh. He quotes a piece to help prove his point that indeed argues the complete opposite - if you bother to read it! And this is how we arrived where we are tonight with BJ having dinner in Brussels to try and sort out the complete bolloxy mess that 52% of the great British public voted for.
Oh BTW Manny, your postings continue this theme of confusion and contradiction by waving an English flag and footnoting “rule Britannia”! Just saying.

By jingo, you’re right! I missed the right hand!
I apologise Manny for calling you confused and contradictory. You are in fact the very opposite of that. You must be gutted that a United Ireland is now (post Brexit) a virtual certainty? I share your sorrow. Stay strong.

To comment you’re a bit of a tw@t is doing you an injustice, best to leave politics out of a forum about NTFC.
