Matt Hancock to speak at 3pm about new tiering.

I've been made aware that we're moving into a higher tier, probably 4. We shall hear soon.

At least I got to one game this season  Cry

It’s not like I’m disagreeing with this based on the escalating data but to jump from tier 2 to tier 4 in a matter of days seems a bit draconian. It’s all so arbitrary - are they going to cancel the Christmas Day guidance too?

It could be tier 3. I've been told it could be the highest tier. We'll know soon.

I see a third of the games are postponed!
Fully expect the league to be suspended in Jan.

I would have to agree that there must be a real possibility of the league being suspended fairly soon. Where will all this end? Would be interesting to know how many clubs were now really struggling to stay afloat.  There was a view that clubs would be going out of business by Christmas but to best of my knowledge this has not occurred to date.  I don't want any club to disappear, all clubs need each other and we must ensure all survive any further diffiiculties. Please stay safe everyone and thanks to all for the continuing point of contact this site provides for me.

Believe it or not, Tier 4 is not as strict as we endured here. Our lockdown lasted for about 3 months with from what I understand was a less contagious strain? Greater Melbourne was cut off from the outside world and it only just got turned around with a comparatively minimal starting point in terms of community transmission. I’m no expert and whilst I don’t want to be the merchant of doom, going by our experience here I can’t see how tier 4 is going to work?

I don't think they'll suspend just one league. There is only 1 game off in the championship and none in league 2.

When it comes to the 2nd January all the fixtures in league 1 are scheduled to go ahead, unless another team/s drop down with it before then.

Not a minute too soon either, I heard on good authority that the influenza virus is also doing the rounds for good measure and is really nasty this year.

Yeah, my 15 year old daughter had it and it knocked her for six, she really wasn't well with it. She was also the only one in the house not to receive a flu jab this year and was the only one who got it, so I guess that shows the value of having them!

EFL starting twice a week tests now for all sides so postponements will go through the roof now...
