Are there any other angles on the second yellow foul or is everyone making judgement on the head on camera view which gives no definitive aspect?
I’m far more interested in your opinion on it DC?

Inconclusive from the angle we have, but the Assistant Referee who had a much better angle than either the referee or us was convinced and flagged immediately. If I was the referee, I would have gone with his decision 100%.  Wink

Just listened to the Ricky Holmes interview after the game, I think I had a valid point yesterday

Ricky Holmes is a star, and not just on the pitch. He's one of the only players when interviewed who doesn't worry about "saying the right thing" (Nicky Adams is another). He points out exactly what we've been saying here - we shouldn't have sat back after taking the lead and that we're not often going to be able to win games if we let teams "batter" us, which is how he (correctly) describes what Crewe did to us yesterday. He also says the sending off didn't change the result as we were already being overwhelmed by Crewe. Refreshing to see a player just say it how it is.

It's a shame Timmy didn't ask KC the question about why the team sits back on a lead, rather than Ricky Holmes.

It was a sending off.... because the official sent him off.
I really don’t get the debate.

Class interview from a class act.

I think what needs to happen is for Curle to evolve the team into a genuine counter-attacking threat. I think we have to accept that most teams in this division are going to have the majority of possession against us - we're not going to magically become a tika taka team overnight.

What is achievable though, is for us to be a compact, high-pressing Leicester-style outfit with pace to hurt teams on the counter-attack. Curle needs to sort out the wing-back positions so that we have pace on the flanks: Marshall and Mills (when he returns) are probably our best bet.

I also think we missed Sheehan and McWilliams yesterday.

That's what I say whether umpiring or refereeing, look in the scorebook or on the results sheet, whatever is there is what it is.  Cool

I did not see the game but listened to Radio N'pton and have seen the brief lowlights. Tim and Martin Smith agreed that Crewe were good value for the win. Maybe if we had kept 11 men on the pitch we may have held on for an undeserved point. Both Martin's yellow cards appear to be contentious, the first as KC says Harriman was the player standing over the ball waiting to take the free kick (I looked at the BBC site at half time and they had Harriman as being booked so I assumed Tim had got it wrong). For the second Martin Smith thought that it was our free kick and their player was going to be booked and could not believe the sending off. He also thought Martin was having a good game up to that point and I am happier taking his opinion over the anti-Martin posts on here.
It is disappointing that we appreared to resort time wasting midway through the first half and surprising that Arnold was also not cautioned. I can understand the substitutions, when Adams starts I don't think you are going to see him play 90 minutes now. Finally one bright note was the performance of young Max Dyche, well done lad.

I think the problem a lot of people have with KC is that he doesn't seem to want our players to play football. We have, in the recent past, pulled out results when KC has seemed to be in a "difficult" position, after the 1st leg against Cheltenham and a few weeks ago at Burton but each time it was done by playing a bit of football, not just hoofing, But KC then reverts back to type and we're back with the dire "sit back and hope for a point" football.
I also think why we get so many cards is down to the fact that the football is so dire, that the refs think that we are always trying to stop the opposition one way or another, we certainly get cards for things that other, perceived "footballing teams" get away with.

It's the point of unofficial message boards. We are not going to change the sending off, nor are we going to change the result or tactics by KC. That doesn't stop us, including you, giving an opinion on the game.

I agree with this we as a team are known as an anti football stop the opposition team, Curlio openly admits such.
From what I’ve seen refs favour the footballing team and this is born out by the sheer number of free kicks we give away, which has to be the highest in the league?

To me it is mystery why the team sits back so much. To me it can’t entirely based on KC tactical instructions! On 0-1 away against a team capable of scoring goals. Give me a break! 3-0 perhaps? Is it just the team leadership as no Goode remember!
At the moment we just have not got the players to play a dangerous counter attack. We can do it like the admirable goal yesterday but not on a consistent basis and that was evident yesterday. Sowerby is showing signs he can provide the quality as is Holmes. I believe we are not far off , if we can garner a further 2/3 pts by Xmas and then recruit carefully in Jan might be happy!

And the idea that he was protesting as much as he did because he knew he was innocent doesnt wash with me. Knew he was guilty more like but wanted to convince otherwise.

Didnt hear it but how about KT bins Curle and puts Ricky and Alan in joint charge as player managers?
Would have to offer both a new contract from Xmas but still might end up saving himself a few quid.
Both come across as articulate intelligent men to me, isnt Sheehan doing his badges, didnt Ricky get himself a degree? He must be the best man motivator we have in the squad in any event.
I can see them quickly becoming our next Wilder and Knill.

I really love the optimism, but for me our current position and points total massively flatter us and we look so far out of our depth. Very early on my feeling was we would go down, quite possibly finishing bottom. Fair play to the players for some gutsy performances to pick up some results but that’s what it’s been guts as opposed to any quality. Let’s hope you are right and we climb the table as that would be a far more enjoyable next year.
