Even Radio Oxford expressed sympathy for both Smith (trying upfront with no service) and Holmes. Were competing well and taking the game to them for much of the first half...then Curle gets involved at half time! Have the Cobblers had an even remotely competitive second half this season? Genuine question! Plus, have we EVER looked better after a KC substitution ?

I think we will lose the next 4/5 games and at that point KT will need to make a decision. I think Curle has already lost the Dressing Room and a significant proportion of the fans.

Another 4/5 games?? Ouch! It does seem like something is going on behind the scenes, some of the stuff in the media from senior plays does not paint a happy picture, and Curles interviews and articles since last night seem completely at odds with his "DNA, Fabric, Fundamentals" stuff. He claims to have only brought in players who were a good fit for us and the identity he is (still) trying to create. He claims that he meets them all once or twice before signing them to make sure they are right, yet now he is questioning their "fight and character", saying that we don't have enough leaders, well i'm sorry Keith, because after spending so many months telling us what you are trying to achieve, its now patently obvious you have failed to deliver what you are trying to deliver. Statements like " I like playing front-foot football and I like getting after teams" are not backed up by what is being produced on the pitch. Yes we may have had a reduced budget, yes we may have replaced quality players with lesser quality , but there is still enough quality in there to do things differently. If he gets another 4/5 games then we are part way into January, part way into the transfer window, by the time a new managers comes in its too late to assess the squad and make changes where needed. For me its got to be done now, or after a bad result on Saturday.....the same weekend when Boothroyd was sacked in 2013.... in order to give the new man a fighting chance of changing things around.

I have left it until now to comment but yes last night was bad. We have now failed to score in half of our 18 games but you cannot criticise the strikers when they are getting minimal sevice as we continue to create so few chances. KC never uses the fact that so many players were unavailable due to suspensions or injury and always says it it an opportunity for others to stake a claim. We are able to defend as we showed against Fleetwood but last night we had only 1 of our regular centre backs available, a 17 year old we had throw in at the deep end and Hoskins pressed into service at full back. I was surprised we reached half time without conceding. Among others last night we were without Bolger, Sheehan, Mills, McWilliams and Nuttall most of which would command a place in the starting 11. I notice our regular moning minnies have been working overtime stating the manager should f off and aiming expletives at certain players. Some don't confine this to the management and players but aim the same offensive comments at the radio team, other board members and any individual mentioned by another board member. However, they rarely offer anything constructive and some are not even season ticket holders which shows a certain lack of allegiance to the club. If they are so upset why do they not form their own consortium and do something about it or travel a few miles to watch nice tippy tappy football at MK and they would not need to moan about the facilities. We have a much changed squad from last season and we could not have stopped most of the players that left. Goode and Wharton wanted to play at a higher level, we could not get Morley back ( who some did not want when he signed), Oliver chose to go to Gillingham and Turnbull and Williams cannot get into the starting 11 of their respective division 2 teams. Clearly with his budget limitations KC was not able to persuade certain players to join us and so we have what we have. KC has not had the luxury of the budget of some former managers who splashed the cash on the likes of van Veen and Crooks but that did not work out well. If we changed manager he would still have the same players and probably little room to manouvre in the january transfer window. It is not easy moving players on who are in contract and most new managers want to change half of the team. It did not work when we sacked Page, Edingburgh or JFH so why expect anything different this time. Calling for Holmes and Sheehan to take over is quite ridiculous and a certain poster seems to have inside knowledge of how much of his budget KC has spent, perhaps he can enlighten us to how he knows this. KC has stated he has acompetitive budget but he is unlikely to say otherwise. Our bubble will be attending the Lincoln game SUPPORTING whoever is representing our club on the day as it is futile getting on the players backs. They are division 1 players are are prone to making mistakes as players do higher up the ladder. As we are creating so few chances we will not go expecting to be enthralled by the entertainment served up but providing those selected give 100% on the day we will leave happy whatever the result.
Here we go, so now you have to be a season ticket holder, no longer content with just having to attend games as everblite would have it. Neither you nor I know what his playing budget was, only that he was happy to bleat on about how he could save money within it. As for your statement that those who are despondent should switch their allegiance to the w*nkers in MK obviously has no idea about what a football supporter even is. The football we are having to endure is absolute crap, surely you see that, and those players are clearly not giving 100% so where does that leave us?

GPC - Yes Boothroyd was sacked but Chris Wilder wasn't appointed until the end of January. A week before transfer deadline if I remember rightly. A few rushed signings followed but not a lot of time to get the players in he probably wanted.

Which people seem to forget when they say he struggled initially and plenty of people were questioning his appointment and ability! It was only when he’d had a full window the following summer that he was able to make his mark. We don’t need to be in that boat again! Replace now, appoint soon, full window!

Are there any decent ones out there, or the normal ones that go round and round and round again?

I think it is you who has forgotten, It was actually the winter after his first full transfer window, that people (the same people wanting Curle gone now) want him gone.

There are worrying signs KC has lost the dressing room and in the past this has prompted KT to give the incumbent manger the chop .Things look bleak for KC at the moment but in the past after abysmal away performances KC has come up trumps e.g. last season after heavy defeats at Crawley and Sc***horpe. Unless he reproduces this type of turn around quickly then it looks likely he will get the push in early January. One can argue we are not so much in Curles hands at the moment but how the fancy takes KT and his track record in appointing mangers during his reign as Cobblers chairman does not stand up very well so what confidence should Cobblers supporters have in KTs decision making.

Not sure if you have noted the comments of others on this subject but some prominent posters (not me of course] on here don't agree with you Is this a set back/disappointment for you?

As an aside, but Oxford related, seems Opus Energy have gone down the chute... empty building for past few months near me at its base in Summertown - virtually nextdoor to Bower & Bailey's Solicitors.

SOG - I was not saying that you have to be a season ticket holder to be considered as a supporter but pointing out that some of those who are most vociferous with their negative comments are not sth's. Of course we do not know KC's budget, nor should we expect to, but I would imagine it would rank in the lower third of the division. There is a poster who professes to know and also claims to know how much of it has been spent so perhaps he could enlighten us. If all some posters can do is condemn everything within the club and never offer any positive comments I suggested they may be happier travelling to MK. I think most on here recognise the guilty parties and now pay little heed to there comments as they are regurgitated over and over again. If we were to field a side from the players who have not been slated on here we probably would not be able to field a 5 a side team.

Suffice to say I had £0 on.
Didn't back yourself with hard cash then? Just like you won't back up your opinions by asking the one man who has the answers, KT? Remember, you have to speculate to accumulate
