Almost gave it to Benny because he managed to turn his man quite well a few times, but then I had a word with myself because you really can't win MoM just for turning around prior to falling over.

So bollocks to him, it's Balding.

not one player deserved more than a 4.
Some like Bolger and Horsfall get 2s.
i will give it to Hoskins who tried to be positive

Balding.
She currently lies second. What has been her highest finishing position prior to this season?

As far back as the records go, the results and Clares positioning releative to our league positions are as follows:

Previous Winners          Clare Balding         League Position
2020 – Charlie Goode         12th of 27        Div 4 -  7th (Promotion)
2019 - Aaron Pierre             7th of 27         Div 4 – 15th
2018 - Ash Taylor                2nd of 32        Div 3 – 22nd (Relegated)
2017 – JJ O’Toole                9th of 29         Div 3 – 16th
2016 - JJ O’Toole               25th of 29         Div 4 –  1st (Champions)
2015 - Lawson D’Ath            8th of 32        Div 4 – 12th
2014 - Darren Carter            3rd of 32        Div 4 – 21st
2013 – Luke Guttridge          7th of 28        Div 4 – 6th (Play-Off Finalists)
2012 – Ben Tozer                 7th of 31        Div 4 – 20th
2011 – Chris Dunn               8th of 32        Div 4 – 16th
2010 – Luke Guttridge       Not Known        Div 4 – 11th

Twice on the podium then but yet to be a champion.
Can super Sam keep her off the top spot this year?
She starts every game but then so does 42. They have an unfair advantage over the other runners in that respect.

Previous seasons limiting it to those that actually went to the games has stopped the permanently miserable, disjointed and fake accounts from voting in the past.

Considering some of the players we've had over the last decade, I'm suprised by some of those names that won. No Holmes, Adams, Buchanon, Bayo, Hackett, Langmead... but we had D'ath, Dunn, Tozer and Carter?

Was it a positive or a negative?
If it is a negative, is there a possible opportunity for improvement or are you and the OP keeping it to yourself?

Larry's comments are partially correct even if they assume a degree of exaggeration. I sometimes wonder if one or two of current voters actually viewed the game but relied on hearsay comments. I would also say the current board listing reflects an accurate support opinion of most players. That must infuriate some! One genuine gripe is the trend in voting for ',,,,,woman' - seems pointless to me. Why not introduce a former Cobblers hero like Frank Large?

Don't be so miserable! I've told loads of non-cobblers supporting friends of the glorious absurdity of Ms Balding's patronage of our POTS award and they all thought it was funny.

Didn't understand that?

What I meant was that in previous seasons you needed to have gone to the game to vote in the PoTS.
Now practically everyone is watching it on tv the more outlandish contributors are able to vote. This includes those that boast about not going to games because the Cobblers aren't at good as they were in some golden era I must have missed. They inevitably vote for Balding.

Thank you.
It has only been opened up to those watching on TV (iFollow) since we have been prevented from attending by the current crisis as stated here (which I posted at the start of the season);
"To qualify to cast your one vote per match, you either need to have been at the game (obviously difficult at the moment) or watched it 'LIVE' on TV, on iFollow (for our overseas members, season ticket holders or paying on a game by game basis whilst that option remains) or if we have a game broadcast on one of the regular UK terrestrial/subscription channels.  A bit of Integrity is required here.
If you believe that none of the players deserve your vote, you do have the option of voting for our unofficial sponsor: Clare Balding..."

Prior to that, it was only for those who watched it live at the game, unless the game was/is live on terrestrial/pay TV (not illegal streaming) which would be notified in advance.
The only exceptions were people like Doc Feelgood and Melly, who are overseas, but also watch the games live on iFollow.

Integrity of voting is key but there is very little opportunity to fully monitor and control, aside from a couple who have inadvertantly given themselves away.  Wink
Personally, I have only voted once this season, for the FA Cup match that was live on BT Sport, because I do not subscribe to iFollow.
I haven't noticed your votes?

Attributing/voting as the worst player in a game to the legend Frank Large? You have got to be joking haven't you?
I cannot remember why Clare was chosen, but it is a left field name that doesn't offend anyone (maybe apart from herself).
In fact this 'honour', until recently, was also included on her Wikipedia page.
