Extraordinary events occurring in the land of the free. On the one hand you have the President of the United States claiming that the election process in the self proclaimed most democratic nation on earth has been subjected to mass fraud and vote rigging on an unprecedented scale. On the other one of the most powerful men in the world running the greatest democracy in the world fragrantly and publicly abusing his power on a scale almost beyond comprehension for an individual in that position? Incredible events in strange times? https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-raffensperger-call-georgia-vote/2021/01/03/d45acb92-4dc4-11eb-bda4-615aaefd0555_story.html

This all started with Bush debacle in Florida. Using the "Law" to overturn a democratic decision is just.....well undemocratic.

Unbelievable scenes!!! Jeff! Trump really is a very damaged man. His niece is spot on saying he simply can't accept reality. Who knows what he's going to try next.

Hopefully nothing of significance until he leaves office. If that's the case I think the world got away lightly.

Yup, he needs to be removed, but Republican's aren't known for backbone.

I genuinely think the man is mentally ill. His reaction to the defeat goes beyond bloody-mindedness, I just don't think he can conceive of a world in which he, the great Donald Trump, could possibly lose unless there was foul play involved.
It's sad really and I almost feel sorry for him, just not as sad as I feel for the 5 people who have now died as a direct result of his instability and pathologist need to salve his fragile ego.

L Ron Hubbard has been dead for years and the tentacles of his activities have a devastating impact on many people even today? An ideology that has taken on a life of its own underpinned by the vast protections of the Constitution of the United States, sound familiar? Unfortunately the Trump ideology is out there in the heads of the conspiracy theorists and deranged. I fear it is going to be quite difficult to return things to the way they were pre Trump even if he were to completely defer to the new regime? Despite the scenes witnessed Senators were prepared to stand up and perpetuate the unfounded claims of mass bureaucratic fraud in the very building that was violated as a result of this hysterical ego driven and delusional rhetoric just hours before. Events such as this were always likely to occur. It’s what happens when individuals that are not fit for office are placed in positions of almost unlimited power. Particularly when they supported by individuals also in positions of power who are far more interested in furthering their own careers than serving the citizens and the country they have been elected to represent. The default position is to serve themselves before the people and often to the detriment of the people. Political analysts are already talking about a “post America” world order, and they are perhaps right? The world became more dangerous when Donald Trump was inaugurated, unfortunately his legacy is that it is probably not going to become less so when he leaves?
