The problem we have is that the EFL have set “precedence” they decided the outcome of last season by a PPG calculation.
They would be wide open to litigation if they changed the rule for this season.
I think it would only count as any sort of precedent if the same amount of games had been played as last year. If only 1 or 2 games had been played in would be nonsense to use PPG, it will be down to the EFL to decide how many games constitutes enough for PPG to be a fair representation and determining factor.
