Yes, all the very best to him. My mother used to watch from the Hotel End in his day. The name always stuck with me when looking through programmes from that era!

A really good , strong,solid, well built full back who I admired greatly. A foundation of our team whose name must have been one of the first on our team sheet.

If I remember correctly his parents ran the cafe' half way up the old Emporium Arcade.

Can remember well Tony Claypole -  tough tackling and fierce opponent. Was a big pal of Ron Paterson! His displays were not always consistent but when on top form was a top performer. Cannot remember any specific event on the pitch which involved him.

Yes . Tony Claypole used to get me away programmes when I was a kid. Great Bloke and a good Full Back.

Sadly the memory I have ...is of him breaking his leg at Highfield Road.

Was in contact with his daughter a while back, and sent her (by return) some programmes of matches Tony was involved in .....he had moved to the South West.
