But the most successful manager, Wilder, didnt fancy Sam enough to play him as a regular ahead of the likes of Holmes and Adams.
Pardon me CJ but did not CW value Hoskins as a squad player? Don’t forget Hoskins had a long spell injured with CW. If my memory serves me right Adams ended up as a barely used bench player under Wilder?

He's a useful player, but he was poor on Tuesday, and should be dropped. Hopefully that will have the same effect as it seems to have had on Watson.
Couldn’t agree more with this Welly, KC needs to mix it up a bit, everyone else is capable of either being subbed dropped or given a rest except fcuking Hoskins.

He does it because he knows that it winds you up...

The malice on here towards our one of our committed and loyal players is staggering sometimes and quite offensive. For what it’s worth Hoskins (again) created the best opportunity of the game on Tuesday with a killer through ball - he deserved another assist there but unfortunately was let down by the new boy’s finish. When we lose possession nobody else in the team tracks back to cover like Hoskins, and when he’s in possession he one of the few that scares defenders with his pace. Also, if you ever read other forums after a game you’ll find he’s the one that regularly receives plaudits from their fans...

He didn't win almost any of his 50/50s and only completed 8 passes all game. I don't think he was suited to the position he was playing to be fair, and I am one who likes Hoskins and thinks he's underrated, but you're going to struggle to convince me that he was major influence on that Fleetwood game.

Well done Buster; malice is a strong observation but accurate. Its a pity to see the same treatment handed out to Curle.

My post wasn’t claiming he was a major influence in that game, just that the abuse isn’t warranted. Regarding the stats you’ve quoted, well you know what they say about statistics. For instance only one other player (Morris) made more key passes on Tuesday... He won 3 aerial duals - that’s more than all but 3 of Fleetwoods players and better than McWilliams, Mills, Morris, Edmunson, BAS, and Watson. not bad considering he’s only 4’ 10” 😁

In my view Hoskins is a fairly decent player at lower league level with lots of pace and movement who pulls the opposition around a lot, especially defensively. Often available for a pass he also gets off a significant number of shots on goal all of which build pressure on the opposition and as a result provides relief from any pressure we are under. I don’t know what his average yards covered per game is, but would be surprised if it isn’t comparatively huge (cue the stat to knacker this theory) adding a dimension to our side? On the downside his end product is frustratingly disappointing to the point of infuriating. As with virtually all players at this level there is a but or unfortunately element to their play, that’s why they’re at this level?
