https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-northamptonshire-55849608 Well, there you have it. If anyone had any doubts as to the true nature of the relationship then the tragic case of Harry Dunn should clarify the position? For years the US State department has run around the world preaching values of freedom and justice and stamping on any country or individual who in their view was in breach of these moral values and not strong enough to fight back. In contrast, one of its citizens kills a young man in the country of one of its close friends and allies and it then enables the accused to abscond from justice and become a state assisted fugitive from the law. Despite protestations from the devastated parents, the US government sticks 2 fingers up at the family and the UK justice system by hiding the fugitive behind an inappropriate loophole in the diplomatic immunity legislation? What a truly disgusting position to take in protecting this vile and selfish individual from the courts? It’s about time the UK government grew a backbone and continued to raise the diplomatic pressure by using all available means necessary to force the US State department to comply with the will of the courts, as their actions to date have been woefully inadequate. Put quite simply the UK Government cannot and should not allow this behaviour by one of its so called friends and allies without significant consequence? One thing is certain, whatever the outcome of this saga this has been a public relations disaster for the US government. It will live long in the memory of the UK public and those of other decent people in other nations around the world including the USA. A legacy to the true meaning of “friends and allies” in the eyes of the US state department. My continued deepest sympathies and support to the family of Harry Dunn.

The problem is she is doing it by video link. If she is found guilty and given a jail sentence do you really expect the Septics to hand her over?

I was thinking the exact same thing, how mad is MR. Assange looking these days.

This is really quite touching. Well done to Harry's mum and dad and their families for getting this far.

She's been given an 8 month suspended sentence and disqualified from driving for 12 months. Anyone know if the septics respect driving bans imposed overseas?
