They have both had long enough to decide, it’s pretty obvious that they are waiting for a better deal from anybody by the looks of it.
If you really want Jones offer him another £500 a week if he signs on this week otherwise we move on.

Under contract:

Michael Harriman
Jack Sowerby
Fraser Horsfall
Sam Hoskins
Harry Smith
Scott Pollock  ++
Shaun McWilliams
Benny Ashley-Seal
Joseph Mills
Danny Rose
Max Dyche  ++
Liam Cross  ++
Josh Flanagan  ++
Nicke Kabamba
Offered terms:

Ryan Watson
Lloyd Jones

Invited to pre-season training: Alex Jones, Morgan Roberts.

++ = under 21 player.

EFL plans were for squad sizes to be limited to 20 senior players for the forthcoming season....The PFA have challenged this and have asked for arbitration. The proposed "happy medium" would see squad sizes limited to 20 OUTFIELD players....goalkeepers and under 21's would not count towards this.
The League AGM later this month could ratify this change.

As for us..... we currently have 10 senior players so theoretically have room for 10 more!

It doesn’t matter how many times I look at that squad it really doesn’t look any better.

The way I’d be approaching the situation would have been to assume they were not going to resign and to have been actively seeking replacements from the end of the season. I don’t see any point in reducing our options by withdrawing the contract offers until those replacements have agreed to sign.

The trouble with this approach is the uncertainty that it produces.

If this drags on then Brady's pursuit of targets in other positions (e.g. much-needed strikers, wingers etc) will be hampered by the knowledge that he might suddenly need to prioritise signing a first-choice centre back and attacking midfielder.

I'm with Manwork: a deadline is a deadline. We desperately need to avoid starting yet another pre-season with uncertainty about the starting line up and we've been let down too many times before (Giles Coke is another who springs to mind). Jones and Watson are good players but they are not irreplaceable.
