If Arnold is unfit would we not be able to get an "emergency" loan in?

Let's look on the bright side, we have now stopped our slide down the table and I have every confidence we will not sink any lower until the season ends.
We could have taken 9 points from the last 3 games but we have mastered the art of not winning. We have taken 1 point from 4 games against the other 6 teams in the bottom 7 when we played these 6 teams in the first round of matches we took 11 points.
KC used to say that he had 2 number 1 keepers it was interesting to here the ever optomistic Tim Oglethorpe today say that we had 2 number 2 keepers. Brady says Arnold has a back problem so no point in picking him as he wont be able to bend down to pick the ball out of the back of the net.
We play Plymouth on Tuesday who strangely have managed to concede as many goals as us and only managed to score 4 today. They also are on a run of poor form as they have lost 1 of their last 11 games so it is the sort of game we will win.
We were lucky to get promoted last season but it appears that we will not be unlucky to get relegated this season.

If you were Arnold would you be willing to even sit on the bench if you were unfit?
I wouldn't.

I didnt dispute Arnold's fitness.
I asked a question, and stated my own answer to it.
But to fan the flames, a few weeks ago Morris was also said to be unfit and this was given as a reason for him not starting.
Conversely, last week Miller was deemed only for enough to play 45 mins.
Do we not have enough players in the squad to fill a starting eleven and all the places on the bench with those fully fit, and how pissed off would you be as a first team squad member if you were fully fit yet still not considered good enough to make the bench in favour of those carrying injuries?

A bit difficult when we've been naming him on the bench i'd guess! We'd have more leverage if we hadn't been naming a keeper amongst the subs for a few games.

Also have to bear in mind that if we got a loan keeper in we'd either still have to have Arnold or Berry on the bench, or if we kept Mitchell on the bench we'd have to drop one of Edmondson, Kioso, Morris, Miller from the matchday squad.

It's no good debating who's fit and who isn't or who starts or who doesn't. None of them are good enough so it doesn't really matter.

Just wondered what people’s thoughts on Miller were?

Had a good half hour or so at Lincoln to start with, but 20 minutes at MK, 45 minutes on Tuesday night and 90 minutes today have brought him down to our level!

Ordinary but I really don’t know where he was playing as he was all over the place, shot too early and could have passed maybe.
Was he the worst player NO.

Listen you lot, as West Stand says Steve Arnold is not fit. He is only on the bench as cover. He has a back problem that requires injections. We are stuck with Mitchell, unless he plays Dylan Berry from the youth team.

He can't be any worse than what we have at the moment.

I seem to remember several posters campaigning for some time for Cornell to be let go, how has that worked out for you?. The goalkeeping position is weaker than when he was here, perhaps we could get him back on loan or wouldn't the FA allow us a loan 'keeper on the basis that the present incumbant is costing us points?.

Always thought Cornell was a decent keeper and unfairly criticised at times. You’re not going to get a keeper who doesn’t make mistakes, especially at our level.

Just another thing I noticed yesterday, the Swindon keeper wore yellow , the same colour as our players, in contradiction of Rule 4 in the FA Rules which state.
"The two teams must wear colours that distinguish them from each other and the match officials"
"Each goalkeeper must wear colours that are distinguishable from the other players and the match officials"
Its not the first time that its happened this season, time some of these refs learnt the laws of the game ! If they are struggling to notice when opposition players are wearing the same colours, it doesn't fill you with confidence that they will notice any other offences.  Huh?

One thing you can say about Curles Xmas additions is they've bought added pace into the side. Kioso and Mlller are quick and Edmondson is quicker than Smith. Marshalls inclusion from the start has also upped things
Does anyone else think we would have gifted the opposition even more possession in trying to play on the break if Curle was still here?

i think Mitchell has cost JB the role of manager .
He is weak and has made far too many mistakes in recent games .
Arnold is average at best but less mistake prone .

Keep your chin up B&S, I've a feeling that the JB trio might get the role until at least the end of the season... Wink

If he's gone thats precisely my thinking, except Brady has himself to blame for choosing him.

Unless Brady was following the same instructions from the medical team that only allowed him to play Miller for 45 minutes against Rochdale, ie "you can't play Arnold yet, its too big a risk".
