With all the talk of Hoskins/Edmondson, it looks as if it was actually an own goal instead of Horsfalls
Really?

I'm not overly concerned, the bookies have already paid out. I had him at 28-1, any time scorer...

I think Watson, McWilliams & L Jones are surely complete no brainers. Like you say I’d rather the club were proactive and at least test the water now as opposed to just leaving it and then getting shocked when we get sniped like with Oliver. Brady has worked wonders to revitalise Horsfall & Sowerby who are under contract next season, the issue though will be the strikers Rose, BAS & possibly Smith (who went out on loan before Brady took over) who appear to be out of favour and will be taking up squad places.
Steady....I've heard AC Milan are interested in Lloyd again!

I don't see how you can include Jones in the 'no brainer' category! The fact of one great team performance against Pompey doesn't detract from the fact that Lloyd Jones is far more at the liability end of the spectrum than valuable asset!

How times change, in the first 8 games of this year we score once but in the last 5 games we have scored 10 times. Up to the end of last year we were shipping in goals (36 from 20 games with only 2 clean sheets) this has now largely been addressed ( 13 games this year, conceding 14 goals with 6 clean sheets). Posts on here saying Horsefall was non-league and some not wanting us to have Jones back. Now they are forming an excellent central defensive partnership. Edmondson should be sent back to Leeds and now he has been given man of the match in the last 2 games. Several other players came in for criticism including Mills, Sowerby, Rose and of course Hoskins. KC was criticised for his January recruitment which has proved unjustified as Miller is proving to be a shrewd signing, Kioso has hardly put a foot wrong and I Edmondson is doing a lot of selfless running and holding the ball up, his goals will come. Morris is currently out of the side but some were wanting us to keep him based on his earlier performances. Brady has obviously got the players giving their all and long may it continue. Looking at our remaining fixtures we have a number of tough away games but if we can beat Plymouth and Portsmouth in such convincing fashion I view all of the remaining home games as winnable.

Completely agree with this. In fact we have increased our season's league goal tally by 50% under JB in just 8 games, which is astonishing by any standards. He has to take credit for getting so much out of the same players so quickly. Although I was having doubts about the ability of our players by the end of KC's tenure, I had thought for a long time they were better than the results they were getting. I think KC deserves a bit of credit re the players he brought in, even though he wasn't capable of getting the best out of them. He was brave enough to get rid of those he himself brought in and weren't making the grade (Smith, Missilou, Martin and Lines) and he brought in some players who are good players at this level - Miller, Kioso, Sheehan and Lloyd Jones, as well as earlier signings like Mills and Marshall. As said above, Horsfall might well end up being a great signing too. I think KC dug his own grave. Such negative football combined with poor results sapped the confidence and belief from players who were capable of more. If you constantly look first to "nullify" the opposition threats and tell your players to hoof the ball forward and "only express themselves" in the last third and, of course make the pitch as muddy and bobbly as possible the underlying message to the players is that you're not really good enough to beat other teams in this division so we'll try to conteract that by being as agricultural as possible. This is not sustainable as soon as it stops getting results. JB is clearly showing belief in the players and allowing them to play. As a result they are showing what they're capable of.

Edmundson has had a superb game....his hold up play has been nothing short of top notch...would love for him to get a goal his play has warranted!
Glad someone else saw this. I thought he did everything but score.

I dont think he did everything, he doesn't work hard enough to get himself on the end of things in the box. Seen this type of player before, loads of unselfish work runs the channels etc but lack goals. There has been quite a few ocassions when the ball has been crossed into the box and he is either not there or doesn't gamble to get a connection. Ultimately as a striker he will be judged on goals, even Brady said as much. Yes he played well but i don't think he's an instinctive goalscorer

I agree, but he’s a young lad and I’m sure Rico is helping him in terms of making the right runs and being that little bit selfish in the box. Would love him to score against Charlton.

the camera behind the goal pretty conclusively shows a Hoskins goal to me . It was over the line quite easily. Did he mean it or was it a cross ? Who cares .

With a lot of young strikers you will often find they start slowly as regards goal scoring, I think it’s one of those things about being in the right place at the right time that often comes with experience and learning your game craft. So I kind of fall in between the two camps, I don’t believe like some had said that he’s been unlucky and very soon goals will flow but with what I’ve seen there is good chance as he matures his strike rate will improve but probably not with us this season in the numbers you expect from an attacker. As I’ve mentioned before while other players are scoring and the team is doing well there isn’t a problem but if that changes his lack of goals does become an issue for a team in a relegation battle.

Cross I am not sure it was, it was the second time he had attempted it in the game.

I am fairly confident it was shot, I think manwork probably thinks so too and is just playing on the fact he says some negative stuff on Hoskins for comic value.

It was a shot, deffo. Trouble is, so were all of his attempts that were fired straight at a defender, went closer to the corner flag and into row Z.

The only ones who can't see it as a perfectly taken chip into the goal, are those who cannot bear to see Hoskins succeeding, thus derailing their narrative. A few feet into the goal before the rest came galloping in!
