Fantastic. Deservedly ground out victory. Credit to Rose who I think had his best game for us. Just needs to start scoring a few now, starting at Hull on Monday.

Well done Cobblers! Battling win and if we keep fighting like that we've got a chance. Must score more goals though if we're going to survive. We can't rely on Watson to score them all.

A long hard watch in the second half but the Shrews were toothless in attack.

Playing them always make you think back to that special day at gay meadow.

In fact that's a double ....who'd have thought we had that in us this dreadful season.

Listening to their Commentary Team ,who were very fair in their assessments, and thought that we were well organised in defence, although not offering much up front.

An excellent defensive performance. Jones, Horsfall and McWilliams are an excellent unit and Mills and Kioso also played their part.

The weird formation - 4-2-2-2? - kind of worked in the first half. We were under the cosh possession-wise in the second, but they created very little. Edmondson put in a shift and pressed their defenders and ultimately that counts for something.

I think as the commentators said that he'll probably go three at the back against Hull now Sheehan is fit.

He worked very hard but his hold-up play was as bad as BAS last week. It really is a problem area for us. Neither Smith, BAS nor Edmondson have looked the part, but we will probably need to stick with Edmondson as the best option we have.

Not Good Friday, rather Great Friday!

A good first half...but second half, an absolute shocker!
Could hear the ghost crowd singing "That's why we're going down!"
No shape, disgracefully giving the ball needlessly away or hoofing to nowhere! Shrewsbury offered nothing - not disrespect to them, they didn't really need to!
McWilliams tried all over the pitch to be fair, Edmondson poor beyond belief - again. Kioso man of the match for me.
Why no Jones replacing Rose or Hoskins?
More second half careless displays like that and Northampton General will be overwhelmed...and not by Covid!

Absolutely. Jon Brady very emotional and critical of the criticism received following last weeks game.

Good first half - best that can be said about the gruesome second is that the defence held firm. Danny Rose was heroic - without offering much in the way of a goal threat. Edmundson and Sam not really at the races.
Mills gets flak - but he did some superb defending today, really putting himself in harm's way. Jones and Horsfall have become a good central defensive unit that have soften the blow of losing Sheehan. Kioso made the odd mistake, but mostly quality - and wish he belonged to us, he's got a great career in prospect.
Need something from Hull game - but can't really see that happening - which puts more pressure on the Brizzle match - and we don't seem to do pressure.

Both Horsfall and Jones win every header so the opposition struggle to get near enough to be a real threat....Great win!

Absolutely needed today. Anything other than a hammering on Monday will be a moral victory.
Apart from Burton getting a point (they aren’t safe yet) a full house.
It’s going to the wire!

A point in Monday would be brilliant, though I have a feeling in my bones we could do better than that.
