Oh well. Same old England. Proper football starts in 4 weeks.

Sam's a better penalty taker than three of England's.

Definitely and he’s not all that good.  Tongue

Anyway, Cobblers or England? Theoretical question. Cobblers for me all day long.

I'd feel a far greater low if the Cobblers lost their league status than England losing a Euros or World Cup final.

Couldn’t agree more. I’d be crying and I’m not now.  Smiley

100% on this as I'd assume most Cobblers fans would be. Gutted tonight but the threat of losing League Status has kept me awake at night. I'll get over tonight's loss by the time Tuesday's friendly at Sixfields comes round. Teyn.

I’m over it now. Same old England. Great achievement getting to the final and Italy were there for the taking, but as usual we didn’t take ‘em.

Definitely a missed opportunity tonight and didn't give ourselves the best chance of winning despite a great start. That's what's annoying the most.

Yep, I'm over it too. I wanted us to win, but the whole thing was soured by the continuing use of identity politics. It should have been about being English, and being English has nothing to do with the colour of your skin. f*** bringing politics into our national game.

Shot ourselves in the foot there. Way to negative in the second half.

First final in 55 years and conceded 2 goals in the entire tournament which we went through without losing a game in normal or extra time. Apparently it’s same old England and we were too negative, who are we talking about the team or the supporters.

It's only the poor mans World cup. We've got that the real thing to look forward to now. Smiley

So many similarities between the two.
That was our 'Grimsby' moment and most of us will be lucky to see Cobblers in the Championship, or England win a tournament.
Strange pen takers but the boys did well. After Pickford's second (brilliant) pen save, I thought we were going to do it.

I felt sorry for Pickford - stopped 2 pens and still ended up on the losing side.

Agree with what others have said though, I was gutted last night but I'm over it this morning. If it was the Cobblers I'd still be in a proper sulk.

We parked the bus after about 20 minutes.

Its not the losing that hurts for me, its the fact that we've waited 55 years to get to a final and it didn't really feel like we gave it a go.

We sat deeper and deeper inviting them on, changes came to late and were tactically poor.

After last season, the Cobblers finishing runners up in any competition will be a success,  although, for me, Country above Club everytime.

You are probably right but it’s hard to beat that Cobblers tingly feeling you get when we achieve against the all the odds. Felt sorry for Radford as that pen miss may well haunt him! Big argument with some who criticised your the selection of at least two very young pen takers. I suggested that was hindsight kicking in! Then all hell broke out!

Still get that feeling Evers, even after following the Cobblers all over England, and Wales !! Suspect will carry on doing so as long as I can. Followed England all over Europe, although haven't been for a while, I've missed Cobblers matches to follow England,  so England just edge it for me.
