I'm thinking of changing my private number plate as I've held NN57EYN a while now. Knowing how many happy cobblers frequent this site, I thought I'd put the feelers out to guage interest. Any one fancy Sixfields post code NN5 and TEYN on their car, bike, van? Pm with what you'd pay for it and we can have a chat. Minimum price of what I paid for it will obviously apply. Cheers ducks.

‘Minimum price of what I paid for it will obviously apply’ What’s the point of inviting bids then just name your price!

Because naming my price isn't a bid by a bidder is it? I paid £300 for it....

It is illegal to alter a plate by moving the space between the numbers and last 3 letters

I’ve got CO55LRS but have never had the chance to put it in a car - yet.

I’m Northampton born and bred and never used the term ‘Teyn’, although have been accused of throwing in the odd ‘was’ in place of a ‘were’.

I don’t believe that, I think you’ll find even Petula Clarke sings it “Deyn Teyn”.

Yes but I'm not stating that has to be done.

It is an offence, but carries no points. My own (illegally-spaced) personal number plate has been in use for quite a few years now, and I’ve never been stopped

My local hospital camera system can't recognise it properly, but I always make sure I pay the fee anyway and keep the receipt for a few weeks to be on the safe side. I don't condone using plates which are intended to fool speeding cameras ...

Amazing career well charted in Wiki - her big hit Downtown was a regularly played at the County Ground particularly in the 60’s. Perhaps she is a secret admirer of NTFC😜

Does she? The only person I've heard it pronounced anything like 'teyn' is from someone over 75 on Look East. Maybe it's that embedded in my vocab I can't hear it!

Did you have any input, into the origin of the word Teyn? Pickering Phipps maybe?
