Like many I have changed my opinion on his effectiveness, well done Sam.

I think the fact that EVERY manager has always selected him trumps any opinion by the keyboard experts!

Couldn't agree more. Always gives his all, rarely injured and still delivering the goods. Here's to another successful season.

Richly deserved. A great servant and ambassador of the club and one of our best players for a number of years now. I can't think of another Cobblers player who has scored so many goals with top quality strikes.

Even before he started bagging goals he always worked his socks off without the ball, which is something managers tend to value more than fans.

Is it normal to have a testimonial midway through a contract?

I seem to recall it being something that happened at the last knockings to help a player into retirement.

Don’t usually go to friendlies and it’s quite a dull opponent but feel obliged to go so Sam doesn’t have his testimonial in front of the usual 1,500

Testimonials are usually awarded after 10 years service to the club.

I dont think that I have ever been to one. The employers should reward their staff for long service, not ask everybody else to pay for it.
And anyway, it will be nothing more than a glorified kick about, with some Gazza style antics, like wigs and comedy breasts. I would just suffer a major humour sensor failure.

You wouldn't find Danny Hylton wearing comedy breasts funny?!? Come on Tabby lighten up a bit.

Perhaps KT could present Super Sam with a gold watch on the pitch at half time once he has made 20 consecutive unused substitute "appearances".

That would merely enhance my opinion of him.

Wasn't there an offer or significant interest during the last season's January window? I'm sure he could have pushed for it and got a better payday with enough conviction.

I don’t know. And I doubt any of us will ever know. But, going back to my point. The one that flew miles above Evers head. Sammy, would have been sold in a flash, had a decent offer coming for him.

Did it f88k . The point being that we had an offer from WW who were in Championship. It was in the Chron!   You omitted that bit of juicy info as not suitable for your argument !
0-1 to me. God help you if he has stellar next season. No where too hide!

The man said "decent offer".

Managers like Bowen and Wilder* are rare to come by! Whether we like it or not Jon Brady is the only recent Manager who can possibly follow in their* footstops!

We should stick with him, as at the moment he is our only hope of survival as a EFL Club!

If you are going to be abusive I feel slightly vindicated already.

I stated that if a “decent” offer had come in, he would have been sold. As is the case with any player. In any league. The fact that you have chosen personalise my point, based on your lack of simple comprehension on your part, does not surprise. You have a habit of elaborating past the given topic. Like you, I certainly hope he has a “stellar” season. Where he will enjoy my continued support.
