Fully understand your argument, however, players like Messi, who you mention, are not going to play over 400 games for a lower league team. Players like Ivan Toney and Mark Bunn may have been better than Hoskins and Gleasure but they moved on. Our list of the four longest serving players all made the most of their abilities and were consistently picked by a succession of managers, because they were good enough for our team and the division we played in. They all deserve to be thought of as fantastic servants of our club.
A constructive opinion. Not for nothing are our most reliable players such as Guthrie and even Hoskins are revered by many fans. The least we can do is honour those players who give consistent support to the team season by season!

All in your opinion and full of subjectivity. Very little of substance but basically championing your negative theories on NTFC. Will leave it to others to offer an opinion.
He's pretty much bang on the money to be fair. Super Sam has somehow managed to strike the balance between being one of our better players (at times our best player) but managing to coincide his improvement as he's got to an age where a sell on profit wouldn't happen. For instance, the season we got promoted...if he'd been 20 years of age...there would have been a huge bidding war. He's also I'm guessing wage wise justified being one of our very top earners so again, this would make another club (and him) less likely to take a punt elsewhere. Being a jack of all trades has massively helped keep him at the club as well, and potentially put off the bigger clubs who don't need a 'jack of all trades' because they can carry bigger squads of higher calibre 'specialists'. The perfect storm.

Sammo played for Spurs in the Intertoto Cup. Don’t get much bigger than that apart from maybe the Simod cup.

I think someone should just take this city of Peterborough and just... just flush it down the f***in' toilet

when he was scoring goals last year, people suggested we shouldnt take £1m for him in the transfer window - madness!

Hoskins has not been captive at NTFC. He has stayed because the terms and conditions are agreeable to him. Any notion that he has done so through loyalty or a deep seated love of the club, are ridiculous. He is a hard worker. And a good ambassador for the club. But none the less, an employee of the business. The real accolades should go to those who had is name on their shirts. Now that's value for money.. 😁 If you like that sort of thing.

He’s had 2 good seasons, and 7 awful ones, really don’t get the love in.

I thought he was pretty good 16/17 season until the injury. Then pretty good in 19/20 (promotion season), good again 21/22, very good 22/23 and really good again 23/24. Like Sammo, I've really enjoyed the longevity he's had at the club and we've definitely missed his form so far this season.

Thought he had his best game for a while v Burton...
Hopefully, the injection he had & this two week break, will have helped his recovery further.

It was a great strike. About time his number came up again.

Managers like Bowen and Wilder* are rare to come by! Whether we like it or not Jon Brady is the only recent Manager who can possibly follow in their* footstops!
We should stick with him, as at the moment he is our only hope of survival as a EFL Club!
