We have a paper thin squad, especially at the back, unfortunately budget is everything in football and when you have a bottom half budget, guess where your going to finish?
There are some anomalies but they are very few and far between.

Any chance of some evidence of your budget claims?

one of the reasons the defence appears to be so solid is because they have a disciplined midfield that constantly screen in front of them and the full backs hardly push forward at all .
Even our luxury wide players are in the team because they defend - Hoskins and Pinnock .
The more creative midfielders - Pollock and flores are sidelined .
Something has to give to be more creative .
For me , it’s pushing the full backs on much more and dumping the 2 wide men that have done very little .
Mcwilliams and Lewis can screen , Pollock or the under performing Flores to drop into the centre behind the front players . Pinnock or hoskins to drift and swap between wings / run from deep.
Rose and Etete up front .

Nothing wrong with that hypothesis.

you are not addressing your question to me but the budget is £1.4 mill . That is a low figure .
What i would like to know is where has the money from the sale of players gone ?
Those players have been brought in for very little or nurtured by the club , so why isn’t the money ploughed back into the club ?

I’m having a wild stab in the dark here but probably two good places to start the search would be Florida and Dubai.

We have been through a season without the club receiving any gate money so the money we had from player sales has probably gone into the directors pockets to replace their expenditure to keep the club running.

The last season that we had fans in, we collected £750,000 from our FA Cup run, sold Charlie Goode for £1M and still sold 3,000 + Season Tickets which also bought in nearly £1M and got a pay out from the Premier League. Most other clubs didn't have the first two, I would have thought that we had enough cash coming in without relying too much on the directors.

But as we are millions in the red (the reasons which can be argued until the cows come home) the people with the purse strings have to take the rough with the smooth. i.e. a player sale and cup run won't automatically get splashed on the playing side, or the ground etc. That's why I never get excited if we are selling our best players. It rarely leads to anything of note for the common fan. It maybe means that we are not falling further into debt.

No gate money but a big handout from the Premier League.

The filed accounts up 30 June 2020 showed we lost £571k, that was despite the Fa Cup Run. The accounts for the year before, a loss of £1.5million. Obviously we don't know what the accounts for 30 June 2021 will show, the year that will be account for the Charlie Goode sale... Without detailed accounts ,saying we got this money and that money is a but pointless, we simply don't know.

What do you think would happen if you ran a private company like that?

What would happen if you ran any business like football. It’s nonsensical to draw any comparisons. Football is a basket case.
