I went along hoping for a better display than Saturday's mess and got it too, it was better, not great but much better. Walsall scored before our defence had got sorted and new boy Revan was caught out of position a couple of times early on, thankfully he grew into the game and did ok. Horsfall and Koiki were steady and Harriman showed why he should have played against Sutton. Once again Connolly was an erratic livewire, Pinnock was only ok, Pollock looked very, very rusty as did Flores who improved when paired with Shaun McW later in the match. For once all the subs made a difference, even BAS, but then he could hardly have looked worse than Kabamba who continues to carry no threat whatsoever. Special mention for Max Dyche who looked like a seasoned pro, how refreshing to see one of our centre backs pass the ball, along the ground, to a midfielder! Hallelujah! Etete ran and ran and must have been battered and bruised at the end, the Walsall defenders will know they've been in a game too. His effort and skill won us the well deserved penalty but to score goals he needs to be in the box more often. At least the ball was in the opposition box more tonight especially in the last quarter of the game, funnily enough the more we passed it the more dangerous we looked, there's a lesson there.
