The team is/was.....
Maxted Harriman, Revan, Horsfall, Koiki Connolly, Pollock, Flores, Pinnock Kabamba, Etete
Subs: Roberts, Dyche, Lewis, Sowerby, McWilliams, Ashley-Seal, Rose
So the same 18 as Saturday bar Hoskins out completely and Revan in.....
Time for one or both of the strikers to stake their claim as Rose is suspended for Saturday.

hmmmm that’s suicide . 2 midfielders that can’t hold in front of a back 4 is going from one extreme to the other . There is a bus coming soon they will all be going under .

Bit of a risk playing Horsfall given that he's our only fit centre back.

Not there tonight, not really interested in the pizza cup but do we look like scoring? Bookies offer us at 6/1 to win after half time...so not really.. I suppose it gives JB the excuse not to play some of these players Saturday.

Cant even pick a balanced side in this Cup. Playing 4-4-2 Persisting with Kabamba, who I might add, even if he scores 4 tonight will not convince me he is anywhere near up to the task. Painful

It goes without saying we are in for a long season
If we finish in the top half of the table I will be very surprised.

So they didn’t manage it in the 90 minutes or the shootout

Good to see Connolly score.
I'd like to see him start on Saturday. He needs to keep producing the end product but he does have the virtue of being a proper winger with pace.

Quote from: Manwork04 on Today at 22:07:50 Fair play for going, is he worth a start?
Crowd 1200+
Max Dyche - certainly a big lad and after he came on they (Walsall) had very few chances. Was not on for long perhaps 20mins if that but he played - solid is the word I would use! He likes to pass out from the back too. As for Revan he was a bit at sea 1st half but improved immeasurably 2nd half. Would pick Dyche before Revan as the latter has only played one game so far!Another big lad and looks quite promising. In the latter stages of the game we brought on a raft of players and we looked all the better for it. Finishing was poor but Ete kept on plugging away with glimpses of skill. Abracadbra was totally ineffective ... again. Benny in first attack fell over................which drew a mixture of applause and laughter. He actually made a difference too. Immeasurably more effective than Abracadbra! Full backs played OK and Kioki was better but one or two wayward passes tho. Useful point in the end, certainly deserved the point and kept at it all game. Connolly was quick and his raids down the right were effective but his final pass was not up to much. He took his penalties well - touch of class about them with minimum steps to slot home. Their goal was a bit of a mix up and Maxted in my opinion should have kept it out. In spite of the weather it was somehow quite enjoyable to watch.

Connolly, Revan, Etete & Dyche the standouts for me...
Why we just didn't show faith & play Dyche alongside Horsfall on Saturday is beyond me, rather that put square pegs in round holes.
Looks a real player...calm & composed & can pick a pass.
As for Kabamba, I was even calling for BAS to come on in his place at half time, that's how woeful he was.
Performance was much better than Saturday though

Great review Evers. I was half blaming Horsfall and half Maxted for their goal but we probably need to give Walsall credit as well. I thought the referee was first class.

Strange tactics by Walsall - keeper laid it out to the full backs who almost without fail hoofed it up too either wing but always to the open spaces behind our back line. It worked quite well too but not so much second half...Perhaps Dyche and Revan saw to that tactic. One of their players was lucky to avoid a red card for continually holding and some rather questionable tackles. The referee was ok, a little stricter on throw in positions and didn't half let the game flow at times. Would prefer that Ref over the Lady we had on Saturday; he sorted out the handbags admirably well. Ete involved again and perhaps the Great Seal too.
