I see my reference to referee Ben Toner has been brought up again. As pointed out at the time the perceived definition of this had not crossed my mind and my interpretation of the word "bent" was crooked. It is almost impossible to post anything these days without somebody reading something into it to suit their own agenda. Now what was that famous old Yorkshire saying that seems even more relevant today "there's nowt as queer as folk". Before somebody jumps on this queer as meaning odd and not poofs although these days it is almost impossible to watch a tv programme without a same sex couple as all types have to be included.
Trannies appears to be a long established nickname of Club Supporters "Affectionately known as the Trannies, the Prenton Park, Birkenhead-based League Two supporters club is livid at twinning with UK trans-sexual movement members who reckon the nickname ‘grossly offensive". So who is in the right? Don't see the point of maligning OAP - any way when and if I meet a Tranmere supporter I will ask them for their opinion.

I’m going 2-0 tranmere Both teams have decent defences but we struggle in front of goal and I can just see the ball keep coming back at us. It’d be great to see a dogged battling performance but I don’t think we are capable.

I do get it OAP What was once referred to as mildly "pulling someones leg" has now been deemed a serious physical assault with a "safe space" for those affected, a direct hotline to the Police who will act immediately as a priority incident (while Somalians stab to death decent honourable people) It will also require an hour long discussion on the BBC with a panel of "experts" chosen by their colour to discuss how we should all retrospectively thrash ourselves with disgust for the damage we have caused historically for having the audacity to poke fun at other people. I prefer the Frank Worthington "One hump or two?" philosophy myself.

I saw a woman being interviewed on TV the other day who was campaigning to have afro hair made a protected characteristic. The interviewer asked the lady if she'd ever been discriminated against because of her hair. Yes, she replied, while she was working at the House of Commons in fact - there had been a conversation about hair and someone had said "You must need a rake to brush your hair!" And what did you say? "I reported him and he was made to do racial awareness training."
Now, at the risk of offending Clarity and Baldy, I've got quite thick hair. Occasionally I let it get a bit longer and when I've finally gone to get it cut, the hairdresser has made similar comments to me. I just laughed because it was intended as a joke.
Obviously I wasn't there to witness the event the lady in the news described, but it sounds very much like it was intended as a joke. Not a very funny one and possibly a bit rude, but discriminatory? I wouldn't have said so. If she'd been refused an opportunity because of her hair then absolutely yes, it would be disgraceful, but being on the end of a poorly considered joke?
Also, if she'd had a quiet word with the guy afterwards and explained that see didn't appreciate it and that people of colour might find that sort of thing offensive it could have been a brilliant learning opportunity for him. Saying nothing but reporting the guy has probably made the him resent her and reinforce any unconscious (or conscious!) bias he may have had.
I don't really care for the "woke" label because it falls into the same pot as "gammon", "Karen", "snowflake" and "boomer" - reductive terms that stifle debate and dismiss the validity of people's opinions simply because they conform to a certain stereotype - but for convenience in this instance the "woke brigade's" insistence that people are punished or "cancelled" for perceived transgressions is actually far more divisive than if they simply tried to educate them of the error of their ways.

Feels like a huge game for our season this, it'll tell us where we're at and where our expectations should be.
If we get pumped today we're probably outside the playoffs again, looking at a very blotchy inconsistent form record and generally not turning up against the big hitters in this league. If we go there and get a result we'll quite possibly be in an automatic spot with three wins on the spin including an away win against a team who finished in the playoffs last season and will be up there again this time.

I have my lucky claret underpants on and feeling confident of a positive result. I think most of us would be happy with a point but our away record so far is WDLWDL so maybe it will continue with another W. I will be tuning in to listen to proceedings with Tim on my trannie - transistor radio, the previous use of the term before it was taken over as meaning trans sexual, transvestites and all that b@ll@cks (or lack of them).
Manny, I appreciate your kind words " I'm beginning to like you" unfortunately it cannot develope into a long and loving relationship. I hope I haven't burst your bubble.

You lot love to put stereotypical labels on people.. This is the thing with the woke left, they think they are correct and everyone else is either stupid or simply wrong. I find most of the liberal elite have a massive fûcking chip on their shoulders and are some of the most bitter and twisted people I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. I take comfort in the 80+ majority……….

Poor fayre…..we could have scored at the end, but it’s a lot of non-effective football from both sides.
