Many pluses from last nights game.

Alternative marks to JH.

Woods; 7, Came off his line well and looked solid.

Hoskins; 6, Surprisingly made 3 or 4 mistakes which nearly cost us, in his best season for us.

Revan; 7.5, Covered well with pace.

Tomlinson; 8.5, Done everything expected of him at 15 for the whole game. MOM.

Flanagan; 7, Kept to his task well against by far Brighton's best player, Todd Miller.

Pollock; 7, Excellent set pieces with either foot but looked leggy in the 2nd half.

Abimbula; 7.5, Grew into the game and got some good shots off.

Cross; 7, Done some good runs but not enough of them.

Ngwa; 7, Looked good on the ball but needs to improve his end product.

Ashley-Seal; 6,  Even ineffective at this level. The 'Bambi' of football.

Kabamba; 7.5, Took his goal well in a better performance.

Well done to everybody in a surprisingly enjoyable match.

Harsh on BAS. I thought he was better than Kabamba apart from his goal, although he did do the assist.

I would agree with most of the other marks.

Overall an enjoyable game a well done to all the youngsters (and their coaching staff) who I thought were excellent.

Whilst I wouldn't judge any player on one game but for me both Kabamba and BAS have to step up considerably if they are ever going to be more than squad players and currently they are not going to be a regular source of goals at true first team level.

I think it would be best for all parties if BAS was sold for peanuts or released and his contract paid.

I suspect as things stand, our only options will be to either send him out on loan or pay him off. 2 year deal he signed, up next Summer wasn't it?

I reckon he will go to a non league club on loan. He simply doesn't seem up for it. After he scored against Port Vale (off the back of a decent pre-season to be fair) and his subsequent post match interview where he came across as a really nice and well spoken lad, I had high hopes for him this season. Sadly thus far, he's gone the other way and unless a miracle occurs I cant see him offering us anything, especially now we've changed formations...

The one thing that I thought was obvious from last night was "Don't ever play Sam Hoskins as a right back again" I thought he was dreadful. a weak tackle losing the ball for their first goal and a weak back pass that could have resulted in a penalty and a red card. All Brighton's  first half attacks came down Sam's side, it was a bit better in the second half as Brighton swapped their wingers, the lad with the big hair, Miller ?, gave Sam a hard time but he didn't get a lot of change from Josh Flanigan in the 2nd half.
I'm not in the anti SH club, but I do think this "We can play him anywhere and he'll do a job" idea is seriously floored.

Not a SH comment but I thought the Brighton lad was very unlucky to be booked for simulation - to me a penalty all day long.

Everything expected? Was he waving a flag on the touchline then as the teams came out?
