No, no, no, no no. The officials are there to enforce the rules. If my midfield maestro (think Martin Smith, not Alistair Slowe) were to place the ball 3 metres in advance of the foul then el homme de noir should sort it out. Likewise if I attempt to force a twelfth man on to the field of play, who ya gonna call?

JB said that the fringe players haven’t performed but excluded Harriman and Rose from that criticism .
That means he is talking about Connolly , Flores and Kabamba along with those that don’t even get on the pitch .
He is right - the first eleven are decent at this level but the rest really struggle .
Let’s hope Sowerby is fit soon and McGowan holds out .
If not , Lewis has to play the holding role with Pollock or Rose behind Etete .

Koiki and Revan who arguably aren’t first 11 have done well when called upon. I believe had it not been for the injury to Mills we might have seen more of Koiki in one of the wide attacking places.
Do we know how long Sowerby is out? I don’t believe Lewis can adequately play the holding midfield role and his output from attacking midfield has been impressive, I would also worry if we played Rose in that role we would end up reverting more to a 4-4-2 than 4-2-3-1.

Great room in the Midland Hotel and lovely breakfast. A crisp morning bodes well for a game of football. Just hope the team are up for it.

Unfortunately, I think Brady might be tempted to revert back to 4-4-2 today, particularly after praising Rose's performance in midweek.

IMO he has to stick to 4-2-3-1.

This is what I would play:

                       Roberts

        Revan/Macgowan Guthrie  Horsfall  Koiki

                         McWilliams   Lewis

                      Pinnock   Hoskins   Connolly (Pollock/Flores)

                                   Etete

Lewis in the defensive midfield pivot is not ideal, but he's probably
our only realistic option there (something which needs to be addressed
in January). Hoskins can work as a number 10 playing off Etete. The third
spot in the three behind the strikers is very much up for grabs IMO.
I'd probably just about go for Connolly because his pace is a threat and
his lack of defensive discipline is less of a problem in a 4-2-3-1 than a 4-4-2.

However, I'd like to see Pollock or Flores brought on and given some minutes
in the no.10 role later in the game with Hoskins moved out wide.

As I said, though, pretty sure he'll go with a 4-4-2 in order to shoehorn Rose
in - which would be mistake IMO, particularly away against a strong side who
are likely to want to wrest control of the midfield and try to dictate the play.

Seems to me we are jumping the gun . The selection above assumes that we will play 4231 with Lewis shoehorned into Sowerby’s possible vacant place. I believe that JB will only play 4231 if  Sowerby is available. However Rose is capable of  filling in Sowerby’s place and that may well be the simple answer. If not JB will booster up his midfield in a 4-4-2. I do not think Pollock is ‘strong’ enough to be effective in a highly feisty midfield contest. Same for Flores.

You’ll enjoy it, Bradford fans are a decent bunch in the main and we’ve had a bit of a love in with them recently.
Bradford should not be in League Two.

No they're not.  The Bingers Boys tell me that they are right idiots and they should know, some of their best friends are City fans.

Yes they should be in League Two - they keep on failing to get promoted.  Well at least since that fateful day, which might be why we hold such a grudge in these parts.

0 - 1 Cobblers, last minute own goal from RO'D.

Our Tim thinks Richard O'Donnell was a loan player for us. Bless him.

The goalkeeper signed by JFH for an undisclosed fee on a two and a half year contract but then didn't want to play for us in league 2. Then signed for Bradford and was relegated  Grin Where has he been playing ever since? Yes, league 2  Grin

Team:

Roberts; McGowan, Horsfall, Guthrie, Koiki; McWilliams, Sowerby; Hoskins, Lewis, Pinnock; Etete.

Subs: Maxted, Kabamba, Connolly, Pollock, Flores, Rose, Dyche.

Arguably our strongest team back out today.

Myself and Boy Bingers are going to have a wander down for this one. Bingers!!!

In addition to the iconic Corn Dolly on Bolton Road, can I recommend The Exchange Craft Beer House on Market Street, a cellar bar near the bus stops.

Time for Rose to finally stand up and be counted, when we signed him I thought he was a bang average league 2 striker but I’m not even sure he’s reached that level at his time at the club. I would have been looking to move him on at Christmas not because he’s the worst in the squad but more he’s probably the most saleable. Come on Danny prove me wrong.
