I’ve never really notice before but Hoskins is very bad at passing and shooting. Good at running though, providing he doesn’t have the ball.

Second half we're appalling.

Getting completely outplayed and overran. Hoof after hoof and the ball just keeps coming back.

Maybe time to change it before it’s 2-2…

Well that was a shocking second half but we just about managed to hang on, What a stupid booking for McWilliams - totally unnecessary as the game was over and now he's suspended for Saturday. Brainless.

Well, we were s*** tonight and we still won. Promotion teams tend to do that.

McWilliams was pushed by their CB that was on a booking and pushed him back. Only McWilliams got booked which was odd.

Leaves us very short in the middle for Saturday.

He booked the Oldham player as well.

Booked the guy that did the initial foul on Rose. Not the one with long hair that pushed McWilliams causing him to react.

Good result but we made heavy weather of it and again the lack of plan B needs to be addressed. We don't necessarily need a plan B formation; we just need personnel who can come off bench and offer
something different within the 4-2-3-1 framework.

In particular, we need some alternatives on the bench for the three behind the striker.
Hoskins should have been taken off for Connolly/Pollock/Flores a lot earlier. One of
those games where he just completely lacked composure in the final third. Pinnock played well. His delivery is excellent. He just needs to cut the occasional tendency toward dangerous showboating and taking one touch too many.

With McWilliams picking up a completely unnecessary 5th booking tonight, we
are once again without a key element of the DM pivot for Saturday. I hope
JB preserves the 4-2-3-1 and puts Lewis back with Sowerby with Pollock, Flores
or Connolly playing as a number 10 and staking a claim.

if that is McWilliams booked and suspended for Saturday - he deserves a severe fine . What a brainless thing to do after the whistle .
After a first half in which we looked a league above , they came back into it very well and credit to them for that . Hope made a real difference .
JB needed to change it in midfield but doesn’t trust his bench except for Rose .
We were lucky to come away with a win in the end .
Etete and McGowan were superb - Best players on the pitch by some distance .

What a weird f***ing game that was! I thought we played some lovely stuff in the first half with some neat, incisive and entertaining football. We were in control and no one could have argued if we'd gone in at the break 3 or 4 goals up. Credit to Curle for a bold triple change at half time though because they then got right in amongst us and disrupted our play and we just had no answer to it.

We were bloody lucky to hang on for the win.

At halftime I'd have picked any of Etete, Sowerby or Hoskins as man of the match but second half Sowerby just vanished. Sadly Sammy didn't vanish; he was prominently shìt!!!!

Oldham deserved a point from that.
We could have had 4 in first half and nearly paid price for not putting the game to bed.
Curle adapted really well, the three changes clearly had an impact and they battered us in the second half, playing good one touch football at times.
Thought Kabamba and Rose did well in shifting some momentum back our way towards the end.
Kion was class all game as was McGowan
Thought Sowerby had great 1st half too.

Overall a good three points.

Hope had a really good game for them and made a difference .
Controversial and i don’t normally advocate old players coming back but anyone think John Joe would have been a good cover signing for us in midfield and centre half ?
