Looking fwd to this one.
30 minutes direct on the train for Gloucester Cobbler.
Starved of sport this Christmas, let's hope our depleted squad can step up and give a brilliant year end.

I have some friends who live between Zurich and Zug, was hoping to get over for some skiing ⛷

Well, the Swiss will let you in with one negative test (unlike the french) but the snow, brilliant 2 weeks ago has all but gone up to 2000 metres so I wouldn’t plan anything for a week or so - good news is flights normally expensive at this time of year are currently dirt cheap.

https://www.ntfc.co.uk/news/2021/december/swindon_tickets_301221/

But note the COVID-19 pass requirements for proof of vaccinations and/or LFT result from no earlier than 48hrs in advance:

https://www.swindontownfc.co.uk/news/2021/december/covid-certification-at-the-county-ground2/

Non compliance = no entry.

I can't help but think these rules are bollocks. I fully understand and agree with proof of vaccination or exception, it's the wishy washy lateral flow alternative that renders it all ineffectual. The only people who fall into that category are the sort of knobheads that refuse to get vaccinated or toe the line when it comes to restrictions, so I doubt those sort of people will think twice about submitting a false LFT result if they want to go somewhere.

Is the Big Ben Inn still there in Zurich?
I have no idea what I was drinking, but I felt a little rough the following day.

It certainly is - Zurich is a fantastic city for bars and night life - sadly I'm closer to the much more conservative Geneva.

My first time at Swindon, where are the best drinking places

there's an away fans bar (bar 71) by the turnstiles, the county hotel by the ground won't let away fans in, but the merlin ( head to the magic roundabout and walk up past aldi) will and it'll have dozens of tv screens for early tv games

Alternatively, the Old Town (an uphill crawl but easy coming down to the ground) has the better pubs and bars in Swindon. The Hop Bar, think Little Hop Bar nextdoor from memory.
The Beehive on the walk down is good too!

Depleted?
Do we know who’s definitely in/out for this one?

Yep, absolute bollocks and think they lost credibility some time ago with a growing number of people.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/carrying-out-mandatory-covid-19-status-checks-at-your-venue-or-event

I think they’ll scrap the lot soon as covid becomes BAU.

I hope your right but I have a feeling that this is far from over and it’s not beyond belief that an Armageddon mutation comes along that takes out a lot of the population.

Unfortunately I think you are right whilst we have uncertainty over the origin, global travel, massive inequality on global vaccination and tw@ts like Piers Corbyn this could run and run.

Instead of a fourth jab we should look to vaccinate the rest of the world, only 50% so far!
