Are we reading too much into the covid effect on our 2-5 defeat?. Bradford, Crawley, FGR and Carlisle all managed to win despite being out of action also for 3 weeks. Perhaps we need to give Swindon more credit and call it as being "a bad day at the office".

I agree, but after Sammy put us 2-1 up I thought that we were 'comfortable'.
However some 'comical' defending and a couple of good finishes, our legs appeared to go and we were hanging on to keep the score down.

In agreement on this — also OAP post on the subject is interesting. People on here make claims and seem oblivious for calls to substantiate their posts on Covid and Performance last Saturday! Well done OAP and shame on Boots/SOG. Boooooo!

Delete Sammy insert 'John Guthrie put us 2-1 up'...my view is extant.

On the briefest of highlights that I saw last night it seemed to me that a couple of their goals were very well taken and a couple of their goals were converted from chances made by lucky breaks of the ball or poor defending, depending on your opinion.
On another day we could have drawn 2-2.
We have done very well defensively so far this season. Have we been lucky with our defending? Possibly.
We have certainly won plenty of games from set pieces (and long may that continue) without being particularly creative in the strike and midfield dept.

As previously stated, whatever the reason for this humiliation it’s all about the next game.
Win it and Swindon will soon be forgotten- except for the loyal 700 souls who went - don’t win it and all the worries will bubble to the surface like dead fish after a red tide!
The shots on target figure of 6 for each side does rather tell the story for me though. Either their fantastic finishing or our poor defending.

Probably both - the support was magnificent; glad to be with them!

Ok well beaten but what a **** that McKirdy going over celebrating and taunting right in front of the cobblers disabled section.

To be fair, many disabled people would say they have as much right to be taunted as anyone else.

Indeed. A friend of mine's husband is wheelchair bound (he's also a friend of mine actually but this is more about her) and they sit in the disabled area at their club. She was in there once when a massive row kicked off between a number of the wheelchair users. Memorably, and in her ever charming way, she described it as "like being stuck in the middle of an episode of Robot Wars", to much merriment.

Just because you are disabled doesn't mean you can't still have a bit of a laugh at your own expense (or anyone else's!)

Interesting comment from JB in his post match interview that 3 of our bench warmers were never going to be brought on as they were not fit enough. So what was the point of naming them as subs? was it just to have a full squad and not show Swindon how short on numbers we were?.

I think Swindon will be top 3 come the end of the season. Just hope we are with them too

It seems to have conveniently been forgotten where Cobblers players celebrated their goals!

How many minutes will it be, on TV tonight, before "Swindon scored 5 last Saturday" or "Harry Mc Dickhead scored 4 last Saturday" gets mentioned ?
I think we will do well to last 10 minutes before it's mentioned !  Embarrassed
