If we play the ball into Zimba, with Koiki and Mitch playing wide I think we could play him up front on his own.

Whatever we thought of the performance on Saturday (very poor in the 1st half) it was nothing like as gutless as the performances of Arsenal (yesterday against Forest) or Man Utd (against Wolves last week).

Agree with most of the posts on here but if we have to play Rose up front on his own we must get the central midfield (Lewis and Hoskins in particular) up with him a lot quicker.

Connolly and Zimba both impressed/improved us when they came on.

The Crawley game marked the half way point in the season and sees us on 40 points. History would suggest that we are going to need obtain slightly more in the second half to secure a top 3 finish. Ignoring the season cut short by covid these are the points obtained by the club finishing in 3rd place in each of the last 6 completed seasons:-
Season finishing in 2021 - 79 points
                            2019 - 79          (77 points would have secured 3rd)
                            2018 - 84          (81                                             )
                            2017 - 85          (78                                             )
                            2016 - 85
                            2015 - 85
As you can see in 3 of the seasons the team finishing 3rd finished 3,4 and even 8 points clear of 4th place.
Over these 6 seasons the team finishing 3rd averaged 83 points. Factoring in the 3 years when a lower points total would have been enough gives an average of 81 points but in 3 seasons 85 points were needed.

Good stats WSOAP.
Part of me agrees and think we’re on for a play off place.
However, of all the sides of seen us play this season it’s only FGR that have looked a better team - ignoring the oddity that was Swindon away. So that might suggest something better??
