I also think we should at least achieve a play off place although I have never liked them. Only 1 of the 4 teams will get promoted and I think it is stupid after playing a 46 game season that the 7th placed team can get promoted. I remember many years ago Aldershot in 7th place getting promoted after finishing 10 points behind 4th placed Wolves. Also it extends the season for a month putting you behind in the transfer market as it is difficult to attract players when they do not know what division we will be in the next season and the manger does not know his budget.

We seem to get our wins in batches.....
In all competitions so far this season we won our first three games then went four without a win. After a WLW run we then went another five games without a win. That spell was snapped by us going on a four match winning run which was promptly followed by a further 5 game winless streak. That ended with another four match winning run, but now we are on a four game winless run.
Stats suggest we should turn our results around imminently and pick up 12 points from 4 games! With Salford, Barrow, Walsall and Newport as our next four opponents its not beyond the realms of possibility.

Good Evening…
12 points seems a bit optimistic, I think most will be happy with 9 points from those four games! 😀

Ok, perhaps you're right......we don't often get a result at Walsall.....

If Koiki leaves and we fail to sign players where we know we are weak already things could get worse very quickly. Perhaps we might then point the finger where the responsibility ultimately should lie - I don't mean JB and his team who deserve our support.

Four games in the division tonight by the way, the only one affecting the top teams is Newport's visit to Orient. A win for the Exiles will lift them up to third with Sutton falling to 4th and us dropping to 5th, a draw will see them go fourth, still above us but only on GD and we will have two games in hand. A defeat will see them drop a place to 6th with Swindon rising to 5th without kicking a ball.
Barrow v Salford, Scunny v Bristol Rovers, Orient v Newport and Walsall v Bradford are the fixtures tonight.
EDIT: Four away wins tonight, Newport got a late winner to move up to third, dumping us down to 5th in the process. Salford and Bradford both won to bring themselves to within 5 and 6 points of us respectively.

All of a sudden the table is bunching up, we're dropping and more teams closing in. That Covid break really halted our momentum and Etete's departure has disrupted us. However, our games in hand on those above are favourable and we now embark on a reasonable set of fixtures. But without at least two more key attacking signings I think we may slip further down the table. There's no real sign of intent from the boardroom when a statement signing is needed. I'm waiting for positive news but more in hope than expectation.

At least we can change it to ‘we are staying up’ if needed.

I really hope we hang on to Koiki and agree with the above comment. Even if we sell Koiki and get a decent striker, we are losing one of our best players and the number of chances/goals that our new striker may get will probably be affected.

We have to be careful now, we are still three points from safety.

As we have known all season we are not scoring enough goals from open play and an article in "The Chron." states that only 2 other teams in the division have less than us. Fortunately we get plenty of goals from set pieces but we need to address the former if we are to progress. We have 4 new forwards so we have to hope they can solve this problem.

Also saw a quote from JB saying that we are top half of the stats table for chances missed so shows we are at least creating opportunities and hopefully the new strikers have a better ability of being in the right place and hitting the inside of the net

No game for us in midweek but some of our rivals are playing.....
Tuesday night sees the following games:
Bristol Rovers v Sutton United Exeter City v Harrogate Town Hartlepool United v Tranmere Rovers
Victories for Exeter and/or Sutton will see them both move above us, we could be down to 5th come 10pm on Tuesday, or if neither of them win we'll stay third!
