How many were half way up the hill?  Grin

Quite a few, about 450 some leaving the North Stand too!

When the game is in the balance like that you can't be leaving early. You just never know how it will pan out. Being in there for that equaliser made my weekend. I'd be gutted if I was halfway up the hill just to save a few minutes queuing in the car parks.

Fair enough. Could have ended nil nil, we’ll never know. It’s just refreshing to see an acknowledgment.
Funded goal line technology couldn’t be that expensive.

Just frustrating, disappointing and annoying that a fellow official has guessed for such a key match incident.
Guessing is very much frowned upon in the 'Officials world', even if you 'know' that something is more than likely to have happened, which in this case it wasn't.

Good to see. Shame Stevens still claimed afterwards the ball had crossed the line. I guess it’s just a cover up as by admitting to celebrating a goal that he clearly knew never crossed the line is admitting to cheating. .

Can't help but feel that if our player did the same as Stevens (celebrating a non-goal and then doubling down) we'd have no problem with it

Maybe, maybe not, Charlie Goode and Danny Rose have been slated on here for going to ground too easily. We seem to prefer honest players.

There's certainly a line between gamesmanship and out right cheating, although in its purest sense its all cheating. Goode at times got us out of tricky situations but overall was embarrassing.
I would expect out strikers to appeal that 'goal' and would equally expect our defenders to claim a ball hadnt crossed the line if it was only just over. In this case for the FGR player his insistence in the interview it had gone in is the embarrassing bit.

In the melee maybe he thought it had but I’m sure he’s watched the video by now. The same as their manager saying their player got caught and Brady saying it was a yard (or whatever he said) from the line….and the ref/linesman saying it was a goal. These football types end up with egg on their faces every game, including the fans! Can you imagine their manager watching the reply of our goal? He’s probably fined the player by now! They should learn to keep quiet until they’ve seen stuff.

Don't worry, Carton Lid has been on the FGR forum to get it all off his chest, though no answers regarding coach parking fees or weirdos with fluorescent green scarves in Carr's Bar!  Grin

Thanks for alerting this info.

Hats off to Barton Cobbler for taking the fight to FGR Forum. Barton stuck at it as well! Unfortunately he has incurred a £5.00 fine for bringing Politics into the situation. Please note Jimhallfixit!

I really don't get what you're talking about reference politics?!?! There is nothing political in BJ is a lying c*** his posts on the FGR forum whatsoever!
Are you claiming that 'For a club that promotes a green image' -or words to that effect are political?

He brought BJ into the conversation and as you probably know el Bartino maybe s left wing man? Nothing wrong with that....absolutely!
Please be aware I don't disagree with your sentiments on BJ as he has been a proper twerp. Why kick a man when he is down!

Makes me smile too when he is on a photo shoot, so overall prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt.....just!'

Sorry Evers, you're wrong a FGR fan said that maybe no one told the ref that if the ball was over the line it was a goal, a reference to "knowing it was a party", that was the first slightly political comment, which was posted, and treated, as a joke !

No need for sorry at all as it was my attempt with some poor 'humour' which managed to confuse most. Apologies to you and Coolie as it was FGR who initiated the party joke.

An aside, when we scored the equaliser did anybody notice as the bench celebrated the said lineman was knocked to the ground...............I'm sure it must have been an accident!!!!!
