I have been looking through a load of old programmes from 70's, 80's & 90's and one thing that really struck me was that we "do" very little to bring in money apart from playing a game ever 2 weeks. These programmes advertised events put on by NTFC and there was quite a lot going on, discos, quizzes, celebrity dinners every few weeks and at sensible prices, nowadays virtually everything is between £50 -£65 per person. That's fine for corporate clients but rules out most "common or garden" fans. Sutton were advertising "Comedy nights", when was the last time we did anything like that ?
Now the Trust have been deliberately side-lined, everything else is left to Sixfields Travel organise, with them taking any loss that might occur, but, in my opinion, we have no one keeping an eye out for what could bring in money by getting more use out of the limited facilities we have.
Another thing, Carr's Bar has only had ONE TV working virtually all season, I mentioned this to Tom Clliffe who did ask the club about it, but it was still the same at the FGR match. If they don't want to buy another couple of TV's,out of their own pockets, why not try a raffle of a framed signed shirt or a couple of corporate match tickets, prizes which cost NTFC next to nothing but would raise £1,000 to buy a couple of decent TV for Carrs in no time.

Why don’t the club do an auction for fans with the prize being a place up front against Salford?
That way we can get new stuff for carrs bar and finally a new striker that we’ve only needed all month.

Then again maybe the owners could pay for some tellys etc like owners of other football clubs do.

I’m just watching what plans dale vince has for forest green …..
WOW  Shocked Shocked

Has anyone found out what David and kelvins future plans for the cobblers are….?
Has the fans rep finished his walk yet and bothered asking and reporting back.

I am more than a bit concerned that the plan may be to acquire the land and then disappear….
I asked last week if anyone on here could confirm that the owners see a future for the club post land acquisition but not one person can verify that they have…..

Tom Cliffe…..
Can you ask the question please just to reassure me even if no one else on here deems it relevant

Thankyou.

Other than above, have you contacted the club or Tom directly to ask? A one word answer is enough.

I hope he's checked the price of timber these days  Grin

We haven't got Deadpool or an Eco multi-millionaire....we've got Kelv and Dave, hot on the trail of some contaminated land.

I reckon we are going to have our 'moment' at some point, it's the law of probability. I'm just not sure how many of us will be here to see it.

It took long enough to get an apostrophe up on the signage!  Grin

Not too fussed about an extra tv screen personally, but another barrel of ale a week so it doesn't run out by 1.30pm might address an issue since the place opened!  Wink

Did you sit there and think "You know what, there's not been a new thread on The Hotel End that is allowing people to hit the club or board or both with a big s***ty stick or bore us to death with how the club aren't progressing or talk of land grabbers, I know, I'll start one"

Going back to the original post, I think its difficult to do anything at sixfields as its out of the centre. If was still at the country ground and people could walk from home or bus station then could do things.
I think any events would need to be held in the centre and therefore hire a venue which would reduce profit.

I've looked at the items they auction on ebay but its either an old player or one of the fringe players so never been inspired.

I do think a raffle for a signed team shirt, or a 'player of your choice' would be good or hospitality at one of the less exciting games.

Personally wouldn't go to a comedy night or anything like that. A summer beer fest might be an idea but again cant have it as sixfields as people would have to drive.
