I have to say I am quite disappointed that you have chosen to praise them so highly.

Let me make one thing absolutely clear, the Trust “advisor” is not god. Are you going to tell him or shall I?

Yes,it did for me 2 days ago and was rather concerned but back up and running on my phone now, although I tried 2 computers at work and couldn't get on, just a large warning with a red triangle. Just checked and still the same at work. It says; "Your connection isn't private" and "attackers might be trying to steal your information fromwww.smfserver.com(for example, passwords, messages or credit cards".

So today, due to the fear of Farage factor, the government feels the need to restrict legal migration. Genuine question, why does the country need to restrict people coming into the country? It has always happened from Roman, Anglo-Saxon and Viking times, so why restrict it when we need people to work here, look after our sick and elderly (for example) and pay taxes to fund our public services?
My family came to the UK around 200 years ago and I would like to think have contributed to society, my wife came to the UK over 30 years ago and brings a skill set not very common in the UK, I am sure that there are plenty more as well further back and more recent.
Genuine question, would appreciate genuine answers that I will respect, but might question for clarification or provide an alternative point of view.
Thank you.

The 'immigration ' debate has been completely taken over by politics since the time of Brexit. It's beyond parody that 'stop the boats' is a mantra for Reform whilst legal migration is probably 10 times that at least. Reform have successfully tapped into a general feeling of disenfranchisement with politics experienced by those who have least benefited from the economic liberalisation in the world since 1979. The hugest irony is that people who voted Reform are actually voting for the same desire for better economic and social prospects that most of the legal and other migrants are coming to the UK for. 'Stopping the boats' and fighting culture wars will not provide a single affordable home to rent in the UK for the millions of people who want one. British politicians should have done much more to promote a multi-cultural society over the last 40 years with language, culture and social norms at the heart of integration policies. We've got the fractured politics and society that we deserve, along with the underfunded public services that are a direct result of the belief that low taxes and great public services are achievable. And now the incredibly low birth rate, alongside an ageing population, will see the British economy shrink substantially over the next 50 years unless we get political leaders prepared to be honest about the challenges we face. I've heard Reform leaders say that they are a 'protest vote' but I actually disagree with them. I think the proportion of people in all western countries who have been left behind is growing and the danger is that these people turn inwards rather than vote for brave politicians who are prepared to tell us all the truth about low taxation. If they don't, then China, India and other dynamic economies will dwarf our own economies in 50 years time..

The gift that never stops giving, let me reset some of the nonsense you have just typed. Stop the boats isn’t the mantra of Reform, it was first mentioned by the Tories, then the hapless Labour Party. Stop the boats should be everyone’s mantra as innocent people are dying as a result. So stopping 50,000 people entering the UK per year will have no effect on the tax burden of this country and allow people waiting for council houses to get one, these people get free accommodation, free healthcare the list is endless. Congratulations you’ve made my pišs boil.

Completely agree with Manny‘s bold statement above for exactly that reason. In terms of tax burden, let's speed up the process of seeing how many of these "50000" have legitimate reason to remain, so they can work, pay tax and contribute to building more "council houses" and pay more towards our "free" healthcare. They want to get on with their lives after great hardship, let's support them with that and we will all benefit. Not least by paying tax to help others who need public services from housing to healthcare.
