You really are a snivelling little grot weed aren’t you ?
Personally assaulting posters and questioning integrity .
Do everyone a favour and crawl back under your stone and remain in grimy darkness so we are not bothered by you any longer
That’s uncalled for and over the top.

Quote from well established source on here: 'Mills was strong and no crosses came from his man'; are you confident in the accuracy of your facts'? Did you view the game on iFollow or see it live? If you rely on views of a film/play by someone who has not watched or rather rely on
those who have?

There's no debate to be had on this one.

Suggest you refresh your memory and watch the extended highlights on iFollow. Wouldn't want to make yourself look like more of an attention seeking pensioner than normal, would you!?

I agree. Evers can wind people up the wrong way but that was OTT.

Really enjoyed the game. There seemed to be a more robust pattern of play. Even though they could have scored a couple, we had 4 or 5 glit- edged chances. Aperre looks like he could become a real threat for us. All the effort coupled with extremely intelligent positioning and running. Looking forward to what awaits…

I am not sure you are the best judge. Your comments last night, exclusivley negative, abruptly ceased when we scored. Nothing more was heard of you until this morning. Its obvious you left early in total disapointment.

Judging by a lot of his comments I think Mysterious sees a totally different game than most of us. But alternative views are welcome even if some appear outlandish.

I think he didn't go but perhaps watched the game on iFollow. Have no idea why he is a constant critic of the Club and some of its  players, coupled with snipes at JB . Have come to a conclusion he is a Posh supporter or worse! All types and such like Roll Eyes

Good Afternoon

Last word from me on this thread….

It’s funny how different sides fans see the games, but not a surprise. We were up in arms at no red card when CBR was pulled back when going clear ( I’ve not seen any replay, just as it happened) yet that didn’t even register for you guys. Also the corner that lead to the goal was maybe given in error. We don’t talk about a possible penalty!
So all in all I think those things even out, Cobblers did enough to win and we didn’t.
What is the same for both of us however is how a forum thread descends into petty infighting and insults!
That makes me chuckle!

All the best to you all !

My opinion watching on ifollow and with the highlights they showed at the time...
Wasn't a penalty. Probably should have been a red card. Don't recall there being any doubt about it being a corner or even registering at the time it could have been either.

I think its bold to say they descend into petty infighting and insults, most threads start of that way  Grin
I'm sure Newport will be in the mix at the end of the season, who knows we might see each other again at Wembley.

For what its worth, Phil. I sit behind the goal (north stand) and I thought he was lucky not to get sent off from where I was...

Definitely a corner though, that lead to the goal...

No idea ref penalty...

Referree. Newport should have had at least 4 players booked before they eventually did, McWilliams was scythed down 3 times in the first half alone. Officials were useless! However. Around 60 minute mark onwards, he seemed to start to even things out and started punishing your team in the same way he was pushing our team before. Not far off one of the worst officials I've ever seen. At least he got our crowd going, which made for a decent atmosphere given the low attendance. A sh1t ref always gets our lot off their seats more so than at most grounds I've been too...we love a sh1t ref!  Grin

Just to add to the ref comments generally - is blatant shirt pulling no longer an offence as I’m seeing it in every game [….like seeing if the ball has crossed the line, I probably get a better view on Ifollow  Wink ] but consistently goes unpunished

I agree with most of that. However, you mention the "officials were useless" I thought the two linesman were above average, even quite good  Grin The referee though seemed to lose the plot completely, particularly with his use of his yellow card for their players.

Home attendance was poor at just over 4000, more than 400 less than the previous Tuesday.

A result of the poor showing v Barrow, and also the large following to Walsall.....busy times and some people have to pick and choose I guess.

As I've stated loads of time, we do nothing to try to attract casual supporters. We had/have Tuesday night games on 1st & 8th Feb and 1st March, we all know that Tuesday gates are lower than Saturdays, why didn't we try something like "Buy 2 get the third free/ £5" ?  We have to remember that most people who go to a game also spend on other things like programmes, food, drink, draw tickets and at the club shop which is all extra money.
    Worth a try ?

Barrow was re-arranged from a Saturday so maybe people who bought for that day kept their tickers rather than refunding. May see similar for Walsall. Newport was always a scheduled Tuesday nighter.

From a personal perspective, I'm done with night games at Sixfields - for a while anyway!
Barrow was salt in the wound, but total lack of buses anywhere near to the centre afterwards, means a near on three or four mile walk back home, everyone else bar around ten lost souls down the Weedon Rd drive, combined with virtually every pub closing around 10pm (Spoons and Bar Serengeti aside!  Shocked) just doesn't fill me with joy!

Good point!

Although this does mean that for a game between 4th and 5th in the league we could only muster 4000 home fans, which isn't great.

On the subject of gates though, I have been astounded by some of the attendances in the National League this season. Stockport v Chesterfield on Tuesday night attracted 10,236..... Southend v Bromley pulled in 8070 on the same night, there were over 5600 at Notts County and over 4600 at Grimsby. Stockports gate came off the back of a 7000+ crowd on the Saturday just three days before, a day which also saw over 9000 at Notts County and 6000+ at Chesterfield.
The "big 6" in the National League see Southend in 6th place overall with an average gate of 5459..... 6th place in our league Hartlepool are on 5151
