The bit perhaps that makes it not financially viable is to do with the ownership of the steel. I believe there is some deal in place where Buckingham Group still have a hold on proceedings, therefore they technically may still own the framework. Buckingham originally called for CDNL to be wound up but accepted the Company Voluntary agreement which came later, as their 2.9m votes (based n the amount owed) trumped the Councils 900k.....
If it (the steel) was "ours" ie the clubs, there is decent value in the current structure and actually ripping it down and selling it could be cost neutral on that basis.
The thing is, it will take a lot more than £3m to build us the two tiered exec box laden vision that would be acceptable to everyone.
Isn't the bit that also makes it financially unviable that if there is an increased "decent value" in some of the structure being removed/demolished you will also be paying this increased "decent value" when you need to purchase all these materials when you build the new structure? That's even before we add in anything to build something bigger/better. This is why I question why this was even raised with the council in the first place.

I'm guessing most people would like to see the East Stand demolished and rebuilt as per the artists impressions we were shown years ago, with two tiers of seats and the corporate boxes all across the back. Hopefully the financial practicalities have been fully explored, because while that may be expensive now it would surely increase the potential earnings in the future.
If we can't have our dream of a silk purse lets at least have a very smart pigs ear! Get the bloody thing finished!
Not so sure about getting it (bloody) done seems to suggest throwing caution up in the air!

So the club's (flawed) survey showed 97% of supporters backed the current plans and so far this tiny sample is showing that 87% want KT and DB to be successful in their redevelopment plans.
Neither are precise enough to be taken seriously, but they are surely indicative of the general feeling of the fanbase? Even if the real figure is 75% that's still a significant mandate.

Leave the stand and bank any money. Don’t sell until someone who is fit for purpose and passes all the tests is ready to take over. That’s my preference but it seems somewhat controversial so I’m not expecting to get it across the line. It’s the right thing to do though, and by some margin. I predict we will be left with a stand that is underwhelming, a whacking great gap in the budget and no pot to piss in. Don’t say you weren’t warned of the possibility.

Wow...48 votes. That really does show the interest most fans have on this subject.
How many users and views does this forum get on the last day of the transfer window compared with this subject? It tells you all you need to know about supporters priorities.

Whisper it softly, but I actually like the proposed designs. They look neat, tidy and quite smart. Yes, a second tier would have been preferable but that particular bird has long since flown.
Agreed - and just possibly in our lifetimes the money not spent knocking it down and rebuilding could be spent on the North and South giving us a tidy circa 12,000 seat stadium.

Not sure who’s going to pay for that? Maybe one of us will win the lottery? KT and DB will be long gone with the profit. Are you related to Notts Cobbler?

wonder what our owners are actually worth. Not as far as I am aware however we're all part of the Cobblers family; maybe they will incorporate a counselling room in the redevelopment.

So nearly finished. Probably ended roughly how I thought it would.
Would be interesting to know if those that voted 2 dont want the current design or just want them to review it and if still the best option (not to knock it down) to crack on.
I thought some would go for 4, but guessing some of those that chose 5 would have 4 as a very close second.

This is what I believe the best outcome would be, The stand finished to what was shown but the sixfields complex remain intact to include the whole of the running track, firmly remaining in the clubs hands to be used to raise revenues from many uses, not being turned into a useless car park for the warehouse. The owners to then take all the other land that cilldra were happy to take on, so must be of great value. The owners finish the stand in order to take the land, they move on and we get new owners who want to build up the club to what it should be... And they all lived happily ever after. (As long as greed doesn't rear its ugly head)

I'm fairly sure that if the club are instructed to retain the full ACV land we will simply have a bigger car park or a 2acre piece of waste land between the club and the development site.
