Very pleased for BAS. He came on looking to get involved in the play rather than be a passenger, which was great to see for a change. Might be getting ahead of myself but hopefully he can kick on.

Rose on the other hand....  Undecided

Appere looks a good asset. A workhorse, hopefully he can start chipping in with some goals that his general play deserves. One thing that does frustrate me about Appere though, no matter how hard or far he gets thrown across the pitch by an opposing player, he never seems to appeal for the foul. Wondering if a bit more gamesmanship is needed.

Before the game the Colchester manager said he had watched us and noticed several weaknesses they could exploit, that worked out well for him.

- Appéré did appeal for a foul second half and also gesticulated for an easy pass when well placed.
