And scores 10 mins into his debut.
Meanwhile at Rochdale it remains 0-0 at half time.

I'm not sure he did and it's not so hard playing park football.

Was only repeating our Tim.
No, but some an assist and a goal in his first game out loan isn't a bad debut.

Dyche also got one against Bradford PA for Brackley

Exactly the reason we sent Pollock and Dyche out, to get experience and to get confidence.
Suggestions that Pollock could have scored away to Rochdale because he scored against Kettering (who are 8th in NLN) on social media tell you a lot about some of our fans!
Hopefully Pollocks loan can be extended to the end of the season (although even better if he joined Brackley or Kettering) to get him the experience to challenge for Cobblers next season.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Dyche return but I can see Pollock moving on. If at 20 years old he can't get a game when just about every midfielder is out, I doubt he has much of a future with us, especially after initially breaking through 2018-2020. He could be one of very many who disappear into non-league oblivion like Joe Iaciofano.
It'd be nice if they both become local success stories.

JB recently said he expects Dyche to be challenging for a first team place next season.

Considering the level of involvement JB had in Pollocks early career if he was going to break through he would never have had a better chance.  I'm disappointed as he does offer something different from our other midfielders but if JB is not selecting him when we had no midfielders then you have to surely trust his judgement on the situation.

As for Dyche surely he will be close to being a first team regular next season if he keeps developing how he currently is.

Looks a good signing on paper at 23 years old.

Has been training with us for a while, but JB seems pretty certain he will be sent out on loan to build up fitness. I gather he hasn't played in a year...

Does make me question some of the other January signings, who also hadn't played for a year but have been drafted straight into the action.

Nearly every player  Tongue Except Max Dyche, Josh Flanagan and Liam Cross (all out of contract I believe).

The report in the Chron also states Liam Roberts contract situation but doesn't mention an option to extend his contract. This was mentioned on here recently suggested there was an option, and when he signed last summer the club reported it as "an initial 1 year contract."

I'd hardly call Oxford City (who I watched last night - with Joe Iaciofano playing) 'non-league oblivion'
Ignorant comment in the extreme! Or do you believe the Cobblers would brush aside Oxford City if they played each other?
I've seen both teams in the last five days...and I don't!

Horsfall, Roberts and McWillams - our three best players this term. All out of contract in the summer. Oh dear oh dear.

The club report on the website Robert signed for an undisclosed fee on an initial one year contract in June 2021. That sounds like there's an option to extend?

Yes, but if the player or their agents are advising to not sign/agree just yet, there's very little that the club can do?
It's not a coincidence that they are the three players (out of contract) that have the potential to achieve and earn more elsewhere.  Wink

Well based on the fact we paid a fee and he's on an initial one year deal, you would have thought the club have the option to extend in their favour.

How many times have we seen this "Contract talks put on back burner " and how many times have we actually re signed the player ? Not very often in my memory.

You can blame the Bosman ruling for that.   Just have to hope it works both ways and we can pick off suitable replacements using the same method.

Agree in part, but I would assume that it would need the player/agent to also agree?
The 'in their favour' would probably be working both ways, if they are any good and if they were absolutely dogsh!te?
