Hope you are getting better but generally avoid pubs due to Omitron, my wife has a damaged lung so have no wish to bring back any infection. Hope you understand?

Of course, as for getting better, I was discharged on Sunday, having spent 11 weeks in Hawthorne and Holcot wards. Along with a load of snorers and midnight screamers. Its good to be back home. No pubs for me either. Hope that your wife improves soon.

Good to hear that you are on the mend. Best of luck to you, Evers' wife and all that have had or are still experiencing serious health issues.

So which pubs in Carlisle or the Lakes shall we be seeing you then? You sound like one of those that plasters all over social media that you are giving up beer for January or Movember stuff..but only visits a pub once a year at Christmas!

The Sportsman and the Boardroom are great pubs, with the added plus of not having to venture down botchergate where the spoons is.

Other than Mansfield all of our away games are against teams in the bottom 7 starting tomorrow. If we are going to achieve a top 3 finish we need to be winning most of these games. Carlisle have improved since their change of manager and have won their last 3 but they have all been against teams in the lower reaches of the division. They have only won 4 of their 17 home games (Salford 2-1, Walsall 1-0, Bradford 2-0 and Rochdale 2-0), drawn 7 and lost 6. They have only scored 12 goals in these 17 games but only conceded 18, only Sc***horpe have scored fewer goals than Carlisle. They have failed to score in 9 of the 17 games and 4 times scored more than once, they have kept 6 clean sheets and 6 times conceded more than once. Another chance of completing a double as we beat them 3-0 at home with a Paul Lewis hat trick. Obviously we have to score to win but have have only scored 1 goal in our last 5 away games, also conceding 1. Of the other top 10 teams who have played at Carlisle this season all 5 have come away with 3 points (FGR, Tranmere, Sutton, Port Vale and Swindon with a goals aggregate of 10-1). Our record at Carlisle is good with 8 wins, 5 draws and 10 defeats in 23 visits. James Bell is the referee and it will be the first time we have had him this season, we last had him for our 3-0 win against Ipswich. He has been busy this season with 35 games and has issued 109 yellows and 3 reds.

2-0 Carlisle for me. These have turned a corner and I think we’ll struggle.

3 on the bounce for them, who knows how we’ll perform. A defeat could see us out of the autos, so a scrappy stalemate will do today to hang in there for now. With Exeter, Sutton and Mansfield all in striking distance of us all 3 points is probably needed. We could do with a little run. As it stands I’d be be surprised if something isn’t riding on the last game. Whether that’s autos of play offs remains to be seen. Any of 2nd-7th still have enough time to drop right out of it. FG are the only team definitely going up.

If by any chance we happen to win today and FGR lose then the 4 points difference makes it interesting?

If Mansfield want an automatic promotion place they need to improve their away form. 8 of their remaining 13 games are away and so far they have won just 4 of the 15 played so far. Strange turn around in Tranmere's results, after a raft of 1-0 and 0-0 results their last 3 have been 2-4, 2-3 and 3-2 and what was the best defence in the division has conceded 9 goals in 3 games. Regarding today I'm taking us to record our 18th clean sheet of the season and to come away with a hard fought 1-0 win.

“if by any chance“ - come on Evers old chap that’s not really the fighting spirit we expect from you - I’m afraid it’s comfy couch for me today but I am riddled with Covid so hope you can accept my excuse - all being well back for the next two home game and a total of 9 points.

Were you able to extrapolate how you might have caught it? I was on the tube last night and was surprised at how many weren't taking any precautions (London has had a significant increase in infections and hospitalisations over the last week or so) in such an obviously challenging environment. I was only on the tube because I don't think I'd have been able to walk the 2 miles to St Pancras to catch my train in time. Lovely day for the football. UTC.

No idea - I did take a flight back to to UK for the Tranmere game which is always going to be a risk - being triple jabbed I guess the naysayers will say vaccines don’t work but I’m more inclined to say without them I would have been very seriously ill as I’ve felt decidedly rough for 5 days but improving now and even more so after clinching 3 points in Cumbria!
