Dear Mr Heaven, Rovers were the best team in the division since january so you deserve your promotion and good luck in L1. However, the manner of the final day absolutely stinks. Anyone can see that. Nothing will be done about it of course, and the Rvers and Scunny teams will froever now be the teams who completely disgraced the integrity of the EFL.

Thank you 😊 average age Saturday Rovers age  21 v Sc***horpe age 20.6
Rovers picked their own team and Sc***horpe theirs and someone was in for a good hammering and it happened to be Sc***horpe UTG

Come on chaps just stop replying to his inane postings as it's ruining every thread. Anyway mummy will soon be tucking him up in bed for the night.

As for Mansfield it is certainly near the bottom of the list of towns people would choose to visit although we have decided to go. Probably explains why they sold out the game at Sixfields quickly as they want to escape for a few hours. Northampton certainly has its failings but it is a damn sight better than Mansfield.

As Carton Lid stated when starting this thread, Mansfield is an absolute s***ehole which I have no intention of revisiting, no matter what Evers thinks of my plans and whereabouts!
Around ten times at least over the years is enough for me...and others no doubt!

When I go to an away game I often don't go just to sample the salubrious surroundings of the town/city it's in. I sometimes go just to support my team no matter what sort of s***hole it is or how many times I've been there, especially if it's a play off semi final.

I find it amazing that people berated Barrow for the lack of tickets for our game at their place. Yet when the opportunity presents itself to support their team in a pivotal match, they don’t.

It has to be their choice. But it’s a fcuking strange match to choose to miss.

I thought you hated the play offs and were going to let me have your ticket! Have I got to get my own tomorrow?

I can’t stand the play offs. Surprisingly, I’m not even particularly enamoured with Mansfield as our intended destination. But… It’s a Saturday, most won’t be working and it’s a short trip.

Me too! When I went to Millwall surprisingly I just went to watch the team. The last time was not so long ago and they liked us!

It was in exceptional circumstances, hopefully they remember that the next time we play them... Wink

Do you get any of the singing going?
Do you simply sit at the front, silent - but calling it supporting your team?
Were you there earlier in the season?
Were you at Hartlepool, Carlisle, Sc***horpe or Bradford for that matter? If not, why not?

I bought two in the home end, cancelled, bought again!
If we are questioning support, always irks me that the majority who do get themselves to an away game sit on their hands, silent...then profess to be 'supporting the team' or worse at Sixfields (or Mansfield away and Vale earlier in the season) have the audacity to criticize the atmosphere, whilst doing Jack themselves!
Yes, bit fcuking strange missing this game...should have joined the rest of the glory hunting, groundhopping brigade that were at Barrow, but nowhere to be seen at Hartlepool, Sc***horpe or Bradford!

Is it though? the outcome is decided across two matches and second leg is at home.

If Mansfield run riot and its something like 4-0 then not going looks like a good choice. Last weekend was hard enough to take for most.
If the game is close, then it comes to down to the home leg anyway
If NTFC run riot with an emphatic win, then the atmosphere will carry over to the home leg anyway

Do you get any of the singing going?  No, but I used to many moons ago at the back of the Hotel End. Must admit I find a lot of the songs cringeworthy.
Do you simply sit at the front, silent - but calling it supporting your team? No. I sometimes get a little bit animated and sometimes raise my voice slightly when vexed and join in with some of the singing.
Were you there earlier in the season? Yes, I go to the majority of away games.
Were you at Hartlepool, Carlisle, Sc***horpe or Bradford for that matter? If not, why not? I was at Carlisle and Bradford but not the other 2 although I've been to both several times.

I'm not trying to get into an argument with you was just curious why you wouldn't go to such an important game just because you consider the town and/or fans unwelcoming. Plenty of towns we visit fall into that category.

Strong element of factual evidence in your comments. From my point of view would never blame the venue or place and state that as a reason for not going as Carton and you have. People miss games  due to illness or distance which quite frankly is quite acceptable to most on here; or as I do weakly blame lack of funds. But to suggest one does not like the people or town itself is a truly lame excuse; however, you are fully entitled to do!
If you are not there who is going to lead the singing? So in a way you have a responsibility to go if only to organise the singing. Have you nominated anybody to assume your mantle?

I wouldn't be judgemental about anyone who attends/doesn't attend the next 2 or 3 games. Some may be struggling to put food on the table, taking the impact of increases in their mortgage, energy, fuel, food and currently worse off due to the NI increase. Those who aren't feeling the pinch are lucky.

As it stands I honestly can't say that I would definitely go to Wembley if we make the final. We'll do well to take 10-15,000 with day trippers. Half an hour after the final whistle in '97 aside it's been a pretty miserable and expensive exercise. The best one was on the telly!

I think we'll sell out the home and away legs though, especially with a decent result on Saturday if there are some left.

It was quite telling how pish the atmosphere/singing was in the away at Barrow, with two of us who get the singing going all over the country were sat in the Main Stand!
Took 25 minutes to get a desultory 'Fields of Green ' going!
Over to you lads n lasses who go to Mansfield, always lose when I go. I'm taking a break...will struggle to make it to Wembley should we erm, make it!
