If you were going into the Bradford game what lineup would you play. I think I've seen enough of the new lads to judge. Id play
Collis
Johnson Tozer Beckwith Reckford
Gilligan Wedderburn Osman Jacobs
Bauza Harrad
With the intention of bringing Thornton/ walker on as impact subs
I don't necessarily think that Nana and Reckford are that much better than what we've got

Bauza at least ran with the ball and into the channels even though he was playing sort of in midfield. For me though the important thing is to rest Holt because all the play goes through him and he looks both tired and innefective. The funny thing was that you could see Johnson working things out. He brought on Bauza, took off holt and eventually brought on Tozer. I dont think Sammo would have done that

I'd be happy to never see Tozer again. And I'm not much more fond of Beckwith.

I agree but the thing with that lineup is that Wedderburn would do some of the dirty work for Walker allowing him to attack and pick his passes better. Also at times Bauza and Jacobs could make up a foward 3 with Harrad.
I dont think it could be much worse than today thats for sure

I thought we looked as toothless as I can remember us for a long while yesterday at home to a poor Maccelsfield side, little creativity and few chances. With the players available it's hard to see a formation that might work, I'm sure I'll be shot down but this is the best I can come up with!
Dunn Nana Johnson Tozer Reckord Jacobs Bauza Osman Thornton Holt/Gilligan Harrad
Obviously which wing Jacobs plays on depends on which one of Holt or Gilligan you want. Osman would hold in midfield with Thornton and Bauza playing further forward.

I think we'd end up still playing too many long balls with a Harrad/Bauza partnership which wouldn't suit either of them, with Thornton and Bauza as attackin midfielders I think wed be more able to play through the middle and also help with any potential defensive deficiencies of the pair.

Bauza Harrad
This is what I'd play, with the exception of Dunn in goal - now is not the time to change the keeper IMO. The main priority is to be solid and keep a clean sheet, something we've achieved far, far too rarely this season. If we can do that - and at the moment it's a big if - then eventually we'll nick a goal somewhere and get a win. Wedderburn and Gilligan are solid, hard-working players and that's what we need right now. Walker is overcomplicating things and Thornton is not the type of player you can rely on to be up for a fight.

I don't think you can trust our defence not the gift the opposition at least a goal. I just can't see that team scoring any goals. The entire midfield and attack has scored 12 goals for Northampton this season from a combined 149 appearances. Add to that Bauza has no career goalscoring record at all.

I don't think Nana, Walker and Reckford (to an extent) are the players you need in a side when you are creeping towards the relegation positions. If Johnson wants to shake things up he can do it at the end of the season not by playing Nana etc just cos he wants to make a point. I'd stick Johnno right back at the earliest opportunity

saying 3 new signings is pointless. Yeah fair enough for next season but not for Saturday.
I've changed my lineup a bit including Davis who I hope will be back
Collis
Johnson Beckwith Tozer Davis
Gilligan Wedderburn Osman Jacobs

Not far off there, Daffy. Is Davis going to be fit? Agree I don't think we can play Tozer and Beckwith together. I know people may scoff, but I'd be tempted to play Gilligan up front; I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm scrambling around looking for someone who can stick the ball in the net. If his injury isn't troubling him, he's as fresh as we have and we know he can finish from his earlier career, plus he will if instructed chase everything. Even Davis looks an option up front right now, that's how desparate we are. McKenzie would be the obvious choice but he doesn't look as if he'll be fit. Wedderburn alongside Osman. Bauzer and Thornton are the alternatives. I don't know GJ's preferred formation, but if Calderwood was here I could have seen him playing a back 5 at Bradford, with Tozer/Johnson/Beckwith as a back three, Nana and Reckord as wing backs.
