A couple of weeks early but we need some feel good vibes for the weekend. It is crazy how many of our supporters will be too young to remember this, or not even born! Clearly not the average user on here.

John Frain in the 93rd.
Our best Wembley performance by far. And we were still the poorer side. That’s why I hate the thought of the play offs

I know there were no fans there but what about our last visit?

Love it!! That save from Woodman is still one of the best I have ever seen. Maybe because of the occasion but was such a great shot from one of the best players in the league that season.

As Winslow said...definitely our most convincing Wembley visit. Hopefully we don't need to go there this year.

Good Evening
A bit late to the party on this one but I was there too, cheering for the Cobblers. Went with my Brother-in-law, now departed, who was a big Cobblers fan. Don’t remember much of the game, but can re-live the goal, we were about level with the edge of the penalty area and it flew in the net. The music and singing celebration was to this day the best I have seen or experienced. It was indeed…Simply the Best!
I was also there the following year, can’t remember anything about that one!

We lost 1 - 0 to a very good Grimsby side on the day Phil, and Woodman saved a penalty. I also believe that was the match when we took 41,000. The headline in the Chron was 'would the last person to leave Northampton kindly turn off the lights', not very original but appropriate.

Just watched the Wembley DVD. Got quite emotional. What a day and what an achievement after the years of struggle before. Those crowd scenes at the end and the way the players celebrated was just so special. Very proud and privileged to have been there in what seemed like simpler times 25 years ago. Of course no other set of Cobblers fans have seen their team win at Wembley ‘live’ since.
